Maybe you could help define his role within the club from an outsider looking in he seems to have a director of football roll over the under age structure's ie training and tactical setup, would that be a fair assessment?

Does anyone know the official rules from Armagh handbook regarding minimum age a player can be before playing senior football for their club ?
I'm hearing mixed opinions
Our club has some very keen 16 yr olds and player's were asking me.
One opinion I heard is as soon as the person turns 17, no matter what month of the season, he can make himself eligible for a senior call up
Other opinion I heard is As long as the player is 16yrs of age, he can play
Or is the a particular cut off date of Birth (DOB) by a certain time of season such as player registration or league weekend start
Just looking the official stance from Armagh GAA or someone in the know

Can play in the year you turn 18. Players in their last year of minor (u18).
So this year people born in 2007 turn 18. (feck I am old)
Do we know which if any of the new rules are being brought in for underage? I think Gavin said it was being left to county boards.

Surely not… will the kickout be used right down to under 14?
Are you wise? 16? The lads would get pasted.
It is last year minor. GAA rule not just Armagh rule

I see it changes over the years in different counties and few people tried to search online through Armagh pages and handbooks and there was nothing to be found so we were up in the air

Very rarely we have 16 year olds in our club keen to play senior so it's a good problem maybe

Depends on the lad, depends on the level. I’m sure most of us played at 15/16. But obviously now most adult players are carrying more muscle due to gym work.
Some 16 year olds would be well able for it though but obviously the rule is there for a reason

U16 should be a lot handier to get balanced using the previous 2 years u14 results. U14 the minor board are at the mercy of a clubs being honest enough on where they should be but looking at the results there now there’s clearly teams in the wrong leagues. Should be a window for moving teams around if need be. Serves neither team any propose

I'd agree with that definitely. Very frustrating to see young lads getting run over by vastly superior teams. Saw an u14 game a few weeks ago, one team could hardly get their kick outs clear of the arc before it was coming straight back in. I heard yesterday evening that an amalgamated team had requested to play in a higher league and were refused. I thought that was a bit dubious, but maybe on reflection if there has to be a certain number of teams in each division then there's bound to be a few in the wrong place to make up the numbers. It's a difficult one, definitely don't want to see young lads getting discouraged though.

Great idea indeed. I suppose it all boils down to clubs being realistic about the level of their team, putting them in the correct division, not loading a second team with first team players just because the first team may not have a game the same day etc.
