Underrated Armagh players

none of the Crossmaglen players would swap one of their club All Ireland medals for another intercounty All Ireland medal ;)

With regard to the original topic, a couple that come to mind would be Denis Stevenson and Peter Rafferty.

Denis had a long career as a very reliable corner back on some of our greatest teams. He would be in the running for my all time Armagh 15.

I always thought Peter Rafferty was one of these players who was a victim of his own versatility and could never get a long uninterrupted run on the team because he was able to fit into a number of roles and was constantly being moved about.

Not sure he'd qualify as underrated, but seen Paul McCormick take Louth to victory in the Lory Meagher today and had forgotten he was a decent footballer before committing to Hurling.

Yeah it’s a shame he didn’t give the football more of a go, as talented a player as I’ve seen in my own club in my lifetime

And now proving he's a talented manager. Might be a lower level trophy, but still one more than any Armagh team have won this year - Iknow the Camogs still have a big game to play, so best wishes to them. Maybe they can be the shining light beside our ladies footballers!
