You're very welcome and thank you for joining us at orchardfans.com

We've been working on an idea to keep supporters of gaelic sports in the Orchard County up to date with what is happening around the county and the country.
We welcome your input and updates and intend opening the service out to keep folk from all parts involved, welcome, engaged and up to date with what is happening in the world of gaelic games - quite literally!

Our forum will have a familiar look about it as it's similar to others in how it operates. If you find an error or missing link, please get involved and message us about it.

Great to be back. What was story with old one...who said something lol
Delighted you found us and joined in.

There were strong rumours for a few weeks that the old forum was going to be shut down due to pressure from within or around the county board. A few of us were already working on the idea to run an unofficial one because we felt it was a shame the way conversations were shut down (and got bans for nothing), but we didn't expect to be up and running so quickly, which is why you will [hopefully] see updates ongoing. The biggest thing we are working on at present and I know the other Admin and moderators won't mind me disclosing, is an App. We're currently looking at some sponsorship and advertisers to fund it, but it's our next big move.

We understand excessive use of foul language and stupid crucifying of players is not on, but even if it was suggested on the old forum, it got to the point where the thread was moderated or deleted. As for what the true story is, there are rumours, but nothing that we hear that we can really believe or stand over to report.

We're hoping to run a much more relaxed version where you lot are the members and therefore control the content and discussions. No topic is banned and each opinion is as valid as the rest. We will prefer to use PMs to discuss with members if we think a line has been crossed rather than the heavy handed public slagging seen before. We will also give you the right to appeal a proposed ban for some things. We are currently working on a set of guidelines or rules if you prefer. A bit like a club for want of a better term.

Admin will be taking a much less active role in this forum and only posting where appropriate. Like all the others I work and we share the duties of keeping the site running so it's better if we stay in the background, leaving you all to get on with it. That way it should be self moderating, hopefully.

There were a few fantastic users on the old forum that were obviously members of the county board, Centre Half being one. If anyone knows any of the old users, encourage them to sign up so that they can continue to feed factual info to all the supporters, rather than some stuff that would be rumour at the minute. Some that have great knowledge of what is going on have already got involved.
