OK, this should keep people involved until our next virtual match.

I’m sure you have your own little memories from All Ireland final day in 2002, whether you were at the match or not.

People you met, things you seen or heard, funny things that happened, funny celebrations, the car journey home etc.

Did you and the mother-in-law hug each other, even though you can’t stand each other? Did you get on the pitch afterwards?

    Let’s hear them...

Received a call from NIR at five to six on the morning of the game to say rail line down made a few calls expressing urgency of getting line open again asap to facilitate supporters travelling by that route

Nothing really that unique about my experience but the memories remain special to me. We went for breakfast in Bewleys & had a bit of craic with Kerry ones who were also there. Truthfully I'm surprised I was able to eat given my nerves/excitement.

Like many others we had our photo taken in the Hill 16 goalmouth were Oisin scored his goal :D

We hung around outside Croke Park until the team emerged to get on the bus, needless to say we weren't the only ones.

My brother's wife had made him a flag with small orange & white checked material bought in France while on holiday which he called his tablecloth, my Dad proceeded to lose said flag, it is still mentioned to this day.

The flag I had in Croke Park on that day is still the flag I take to all our Championship matches & it has featured on the telly a number of times.

Lighting 16 candles at the grotto in Lourdes then going for food before settling down in the Solitude hotel for the game. Great day. Got the overnight train back to Paris that evening too which ended up a drinking session and dancing in my boxers in Front of very bemused French people

My dad got one ticket so me and my brother were left with the others who we had travelled with every game who had no tickets to watch the game in bar in Dublin, before the game I joint such a long queue to get me and my brother a Sunday lunch 45 minutes of queuing I get to the top only for brother to announce he got chips and ate in the beer garden.
During the game they had big screen up in big room but we couldn't see due to people standing in the way
Moved into smaller bar in same place only to be told girls match is on in back room, till a wee local said it's the first time seeing their county in final let them watch, they cheered us whole game and told us not to worry about the penalty miss
After the game the celebrations and finally meeting back up with my dad. What a moment that was The bus journey home was amazing and getting to the bar in lurgan to be asked if I was 18 my dad reply she is tonight..my mum wondering if we would ever arrive home..the smile on my dads face all day
Also had stones threw at our bus
Driving home there was a man sitting in middle of road on a chair waving a massive orange and white flag. William street in lurgan was a see of orange and white

@cailín beag88 that reminds me. We drove back home and went through the Shambles. It was crazy. Cars circling the roundabout with boys hanging out the windows waving flags. People dancing in the street. I never seen anything like it. Great times.
