think this might be the most realistic approach.
Issue would be that finishing 2020 leagues means teams don’t know what championship they are playing for at end of the year.
also the group stages were usually based on league position.

Option 2 is the preference at County Board level and given the timelines on them it is very likely this will be the format.

Pre Season in spring who would have thought, hard to beat :)

I see that motormouth carville only read one option in his latest waffle in the Gaelic life.
As for preference 2 I believe the first county board meeting is tonight.
Your turn in the DeLorean may need to be re-used:):)

I am hearing from a variety of sources that the preference from Armagh county board is to complete the 2020 leagues and then run a group stage championship.
This will result in a significant reduction in games for for players in.
Could they run a playoff (semis and final) based on last years league standings to promote / relegate teams and then continue with the full league and and group championship in 2021?

Expecting the CB to announce a start date for the league soon enough then?

Think priority should be finishing last year to sort promotion

then I would rather if we had time for a 7/8 game league than 3 group championship games

There was what, one or two rounds of the league proper then the split play offs left last year? Maybe just finish the league as in every team plays each other ones and use those standings?

Straight knock out championship is way forward.

    Variety of sources??????
It was fully discussed at the first county board meeting and I understand proposals were asked for consideration

As games are now allowed from next Friday - without supporters - and given that clubs have only officially started training from the 12th teams would need 4 weeks before games.
The starting point is important as the ulster club championship dictates when county club championships have to finish by
No solution will suit everyone but isn't playing games very important

So the 2020 league continues into 2021 with every team playing each other twice.

Probably the fairest way. Although Forkhill and Clanns probably feel aggrieved at not getting the chance to play a higher level league- not the best prep for moving up in championship.

Am I missing something or is allowing Clans into 1B and Forkhill into 2B really that much of a logistical nightmare? Surely both teams deserve a crack at Senior/Intermediate football and not just one knock out match?

Are we seriously playing a league where some clubs will play 8 games followed by a knockout championship??
Tyrone clubs having 17 league games.
Makes no sense to me at all
