St Eunan’s were a bit of a surprise to win Donegal, the word is that although they’ve a great team coming through and will likely challenge in the coming years that this year is maybe a bit too early. Glen have been knocking on the door in recent years and with Malachy O’Rourke at the helm have a brilliant tactician, motivator and man-manager - they’re rightly favourites. Very exciting championship all the same And there could well be a surprise package.
I had a feeling there wouldnt be much in this game, not great viewing and i dont think the big hitters, i.e scotstown kilcoo will be overly worried about the watty men.

Any team that wins Derry will be a serious outfit. Especially one that wins comprehensively against Slaughtneil. I wouldn’t let their rookie status go against them and Kilcoo are a very beatable side

Hopefully the Lurgan orange men take the same attitude into the provincial series

Watched Mayo and dublin finals yesterday, very poor viewing compared to our own, down, tyrone finals.
Ulster leading the way

Sean McDermotts brushed aside cookstown with ease, Belleek will do well to stay within 15 points of the Monaghan men.

I think your on the wrong forum if your referring to our finals as down & tyrone, if this wasn't obvious already.

Belleek leading at half time
Wifey went down to the Belfast markets today with some family, so I got me on three buses, a taxi and a lift on the back of an auld bicycle and headed down to Cross for the craic. Not expecting much, but maybe kill a couple of hours. Bloody freezing but damn, a really good wee game of football.

Purists will say the standard wasn't great and maybe so, but one thing is certain, Belleek didn't let themselves down. They fought and played hard until the final whistle. At one stage I really thought they were gonna do it. In truth Sean McDermot's were a good team and their midfielder no. 9 - Forget his name, but almost certain he plays for Monaghan (what was that conversation earlier in the year about junior level players in a county set up?????) was exceptional. May have even been the captain. Sorry I was on my own and didn't get a programme. Like I said, just spending the day out of the house.

The referee was a bit strange. Must have given about 90 yellow cards in the first half and a couple of blacks. He didn't really do either team any harm as such, just some funny decisions. Weirdest one of all was when the Belleek keeper had an Oooooops moment, kicking the ball straight at the aforementioned McDermot's mid fielder who rattled the net with the ball. Now yeah the goal was eventually disallowed because it was picked up inside the "D" from the kick out where the player was standing, but he initially indicated a hop ball on the 21. That meant he would he penalising the defending team for an attacker mistake. Took what seemed like an age and a lot of FBI style radio talk with officials, before he eventually gave a free out. Strange, but enjoyable moment for the very sizeable crowd gathered in Cross.

Unlucky Belleek, but delighted to see you give it your all. Thanks for an entertaining afternoon and hopefully you get more success.

By the way, as a ps. did see a big camera in Cross today, so maybe some of Belleek folks know if the game was online or will be. Definitely would watch that one again!!

And that was just to get to the station, before you took the train to Cross, eh? ;)

I think you’re referring to yer man Niall Kearns, who plays midfield for Monaghan?

Unfortunate that Belleek didn’t progress, but hopefully CE and Cruppen can do well in Ulster.

Yeah I think that's the one Pat, but honestly not sure of the name.

Also hoping Craobh Rua and Middletown can go on a run too.

Fair play to Belleeks yesterday. Whilst the better team won I think when Belleeks look back they made a few mistakes at times in the game that cost them. They are the most improved team over the past two years that I have seen in the county, i think they will hold their own in intermediate b next year. O'neill, mcverrys, mccreesh, mcparlands, finnegans all can play at the higher level. Have seen them a few times this last two years and their manager thorntan has done some job on them seems to have pulled them altogether and have them playing for the jersey. would say his phone will be ringing this week with stronger clubs looking him with the managerial merry go round in full flow.
Hopefully cruppen and ce can do the business.

Carrick cruppen flying into ulster this week. Two recent big wins over Leinster intermediate teams. Confidence is high
