Ulster Championship 2023

Mayo put out half a team thinking their squad was strong enough and were well beaten by Monaghan
No Rian, Murnin, Grimley, Cumiskey (excellent player) or McElroy
Starting 15 is still strong and positions can rotate easily.
Antrim have been hot and cold in Div 3 and have been scoring highly as well as conceding quite a bit.
They've nothing to lose so I'd expect the first 10-15mins to be competitive - hopefully we slip a goal and a few points in, calm it down and control the game.

True Joe. They are a county team and will have quality throughout. They are well used to playing as a unit and a couple of their results would suggest they have the nucleus of something there. They'll relish this game especially minus our marquee forwards. Interesting to see where the game is at h-t.

My prediction for tomorrow is ultimately Armagh by 5 points. We don't go into any game underestimating the opponent no matter the division they played in.

Antrim beat Cavan in the league and were 5 points up on Down until inexplicably collapsing in the last 3 or 4 minutes. So they can play a bit and have been improving at underage. As a side I would like to see them becoming a bit stronger as a county, the game would benefit from it.

We played division 1 which is a higher standard and would imagine the line up may actually start. Morgan got a bit of game time with Cross, we have a few knocks and I'd like to see McPartlan as he is highly rated.

Armagh by 5 in closer game than people will be expecting. And if it plays out that way, it's minutes for a few players returning from injury and sets us up for Cavan. Good luck to all involved

That team named should be more than capable of beating Antrim.

Interesting to see how we approach the Championship now that the league is over. Don't expect for us to change our defensive shape but going forward I'm hoping for a lot more cohesion.

In the league I felt a lot of basic errors caught us out in a lot of games. Seemed to be a lot of poor handling, passes, etc.

Expect big performance and be disappointing if we don't win by close to double figures

Not a fan of naming mcpartland midfield if he doesn’t start. It’s a notable change that’s being reported on social media, then friends and family will be wishing him good luck etc and he likely knows he isn’t actually starting but can’t say anything. Horrible spot to be in, especially considering it’s his debut season and he’s had limited minutes in the league. If management wants to mess about with fake teams they could’ve used a more seasoned player.

I think he will start, I don't like all the messing around with naming teams,

Was thinking that myself. Hopefully he does get his chance.

Hard to see jarly og not starting unless injured, the most likely one to drop out for him is mcpartland.
From recent games, apart from the Tyrone game, the named 15 has started.
Given those who aren't even in the squad is say if Jarly og and Nugent were fit to start they'd be in the 15.

But I suppose we'll have to wait till near throw in to see who is. I think it's a good defensive setup with an exciting attack
And for those who can't seem to comprehend Jemar starting - his work rate is phenomenal and I thought last day out he played very well. If he continues that form I sincerely hope he kicks a point or two.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see that team start. And assuming the various injury rumours to be true I am happy enough with that team.

Really hope McPartlan does start. Not a fan of naming one team and starting another especially when it’s a young lad on championship debut who misses out.

Will be delighted if mc partland and crealy start tomorrow, crealys physicality and size have been missed during the league and was hoping mc parland would have got league minutes as we where poor there each game. Not that we had poor players playing there but rather that there was lads playing middle of the park that aren't suited to it in my opinion. Not sure they will both start as neither are natural half backs and I think mackin will move from 5 to midfield and can't see either man slotting back in there

Antrim must think it’s Tug o’war or MMA. McEntee has went for a big strong team but there isn’t a pile of football in them.

Antrim are short on talent and are a less than unified camp but their own selection looks like they are here for the battle and keep the score down rather than truly competing

Think Mackin far better suited to half back than midfield tbh!
