Lads, catch yourselves on a bit , it’s a championship match where we won the match by 9 points pulling up , without a number of key players , sure there were a number of mistakes , but I don’t think the result was in doubt for any moment . When you play matches like that your brain wanders and you don’t some silly things even Dublin used to do it at times . I don’t think the defense was in full championship mode and Turbo just had too much for Antrim . First mini goal accomplished. Next is Cavan , completely different prospect in their backwater . Hopefully another couple of lads back as well .

Good result and performance overall. Great to see Turbo and McPartlan really staking a claim for central positions. Good competition now in the squad for Breffni.
Didn't need to shoot the lights out tonight - all about a professional performance and result. Cavan learned nothing from tonight.
Well done team and management.

Antrim are a very poor outfit, lads able to play in 2nd gear which led to a few sloppy mistakes but job done. Turbo and McPartlan the big plus points.
Surprised why we couldnt empty the bench early. Likes of McConville - why not give him 30mins when the game was clearly won instead of 7mins+ injury. Surely we know enough about Grugan, kelly, hall etc.

Antrim are very poor. They offered no opposition.

That makes it a very difficult game to analyse.

The only major worry would be the number of chances and especially goal chances coughed up.

The total scores from Turbitt and McPartlan is very eye catching. But in the context of the opposition less so. The more important thing is how well they converted the chances they got rather than the number of chances they got. By my reckoning each player missed one chance. That is very satisfying no matter what quality the opposition present.

Team selection entirely vindicated. One or 2 given a lot of time to play themselves into confidence. Not everyone took that chance. Players to come back so not to worry.

Cavan lost to Antrim in a game they were going all out to win. Context is everything

Mc partland had a great debut.
Won the game in 2nd or 3rd gear
If antrim didn't hit a ridiculous amount of wides they would have made a game of it.
We look toothless inside 25 or 30 metres,
If we can't create goal chances in that game I'm not sure how we will against better teams

The only thing we had to do today was win. Win by 5 and the place would be in meltdown, win by 10 and it's played well but sloppy, win by 20 and it's the opposition we're atrocious.

Simple truth is that game had to be won and that's all it was, a win.

Cavan now in a fortnight in what will be a much tougher game. Our championship proper starts then I feel. No point even analysing today.

I can only see positives today. I know Antrim where poor but I thought mccambridge and mcpartland where great and Kelly looked fantastic too, missing loads too

TK, turbo, Jemar played well today. Excellent from mcPartlan, Duffy, Morgan
Thought Morgans yellow to be harsh
Given the number of players missing we still had Nugent, McQuillan, etc who came on

The win was the most important thing to happen
Onwards to Cavan and most definitely we owe them so there's plenty to focus on

Also anyone know what the story is for tickets for the Cavan game for season ticket holders? Will it be same scenario as Antrim game ?
