Fifteen years ago today, this magnificent team won the All-Ireland Under-21 Football Championship after a titanic struggle against Mayo at a rain drenched Breffni Park. Along the way they overcame a dogged Antrim challenge before putting Tyrone to the sword after extra-time. In the Ulster Final, a technical issue with the team bus did not stop a sensational opening half which ended the Oak Leaf challenge. Another fantastic display saw 1-20 registered in Pearse Stadium as a fancied Cork had no answers in the semi-final. Not even an Andy Moran led Mayo comeback could stop the men in orange securing two late points with several walking wounded on the pitch to ensure a first success at this grade for Ard Mhacha.
