Armagh hurlers host Mayo this weekend

Sunday see’s Paddy Kelly’s new look side out against a very experienced Mayo side who have participated at Christy Ring Level for the last two years. Armagh GAA followers will recognise full-forward Keith Higgins from the Ballyhaunis club who is giving full commitment to the Mayo hurlers until the foreseeable future. Mayo will once again look to experienced goalkeeper Donal O’Brien and Dublin native Eoin McLoughlin who hurls for the St. Jude’s club in the capital. Mayo full back is the highly experienced Galway man Conor Daly who is the current Killimordaly captain in the Galway senior league.

Armagh will once again look to the experience of Eoin and Artie McGuinness and Keady’s Nathan Green. In goals Armagh will be looking to Simon to keep the nets intact from a forward line which contains four Toureen players which won the recent Connacht IHC. Armagh will look to young Dylan McKenna to penetrate the Mayo back line. Odhran McCann had an impressive debut last Sunday against Wicklow and the Sean Tracey’s player hopes to follow this up with another fine performance. Although he was very unlucky with his penalty effort last week in Bray, Conleth Lavery had a very industrious match in which he was involved in everything. Those who don’t travel to Mullingar on Sunday to watch the footballers can witness a titanic battle between these two counties and hopefully by mid-afternoon Armagh will have gained 2 precious NHL points.
