ARMAGH U.20S

It was a mad nights entertainment.
Overall, Armagh were the better team and really should have had the game won in normal time given the number of missed goal chances and overall wide tally. The heads never dropped though. Loads of pace all through the team and great to see quick ball going into the forwards.
A few others have commented on the amount of additional time awarded by the referee that allowed Tyrone of get an equalizing score at the end of normal time. I was also frustrated by that-but at the same time I also was very relieved that he did not end the game immediately after the melee and allowed the game to restart and Armagh get an equalizer.
I am probably wrong about this-but my understanding was that Tyrone had been preparing together as a squad for a longer period of time than Armagh? That was in my mind during the first set of extra time when we looked just to be flagging just a bit with Tyrone appearing to have a little more running in them. Probably a number of factors contributed to the melee-including a few Tyrone players starting to act the maggot in the last few minutes. Backfired badly for them as Armagh looked recharged for the second set of extra time.
Overall, the best team with the best players won.

Credit to both squads for serving up a brilliant spectacle and reminding us what a great sport Gaelic Football is when played with such positivity and passion. Lots of (social) media attention on the melee. There is always the potential for these things to escalate quickly over such a long evening in a high intensity game of football . Lets hope the incident is reviewed fairly, in the proper context and appropriate action taken that is not unduly influenced by the agenda of Mr Bogue.

First phase of the disciplinary hearings are tonight I believe . 6 players from each team have been summoned. The team could be severely weakened
for the ulster final.

That's assuming we're in the Ulster Final!!

Well if we are not I will most definitely be contacting the Ulster Council, Croke Park, the CCCC & the Irish News as this is not the 1st time something like this has happened & you can be sure it won't be the last, why should "proper" action be taken now after all these years?!?!

I also find it very disappointing that so many supporters felt the need to record these events on their mobiles & wonder how many of these same supporters recorded bits & pieces of the match?!? Yes these were totally disgraceful scenes & should never have happened, but anyone who attended the match will testify to having witnessed a thrilling, exhilarating, nerve wrecking game of football with both teams giving their all to get over the line & reach an Ulster Final.

As a slight sidenote I could not believe it when I saw Ryan Owens kitted out on Saturday after playing for the U20s on Friday night. If anyone doubted our players commitment & dedication to the county squad you need look no further, I was knackered on Saturday & I was just a spectator :D

You were doing ok until you mentioned IN

It seems that they had to record those scenes to support their claim for PTS.

Look all joking aside, people seem to be able to find an excuse very easily these days to be offended, terrified or disturbed etc. The same people recording this feed directly into the hands of those that knock the very association they want to be involved in. Stand out in the rain and you may get wet. Attend a sports event and something might happen. There's a piece on the BBC website that is so far from reality it's a joke. Third hand reporting about the "horrendous scenes". Not even a single line describing what was possibly the best game ever witnessed at AG.

Like you said, two teams fully committed (can't believe I'm praising them, but they were brilliant too). Spectators that got super value for the admission price and not a single word about it!

Thankfully Ryan Owens didn't play for the seniors. If he had, then there'd be another missing the next game.

What is the deal with all that? Something goes on at a match (or anywhere), and peoples first instinct is to record it. What have we become as a species?

If the rumour I just heard turns out to be true, we won't need to worry about who is showing what! I'm just hoping I'm being wound up by one of them'uns!

Just bizarre what goes through folks heads. 2 hours of fantastic football and the first row that breaks out people can’t get their phones out quick enough, followed by the race to be the first one to put it on social media. What strange times we live in!!
