It won’t matter they’ll be over age next year so they’ll get away with it

This is indeed something I was wondering about. If there are suspended players who will be over age next year how are they punished? Or is it as you have stated they just get away with it? The Derry U20 set up must be laughing their legs off watching all this going on, the only thing distracting them from their preparation has been the date the final would be played on, if it went ahead. Tyrone have totally & utterly ruined this for our boys in every way they possibly could, from causing the row on the night to lodging the objection, just another thing to add to the list of why I despise everything about them

Any word on names yet? Bloody disgrace denying those lads this chance!

While the issue about the Tyrone appeal is thankfully over I think this comment is the type of attitude that is what is wrong with thing these days. There was an all out brawl. If this happened on the street the police would be all over it and rightly so. There is a serious lack of discipline these days with many teams, and I would include my own club in that so don’t think I’m that naive. It happened in my day but not as public as there were not phone cameras there covering them all. I really think that there needs to be a serious review of what the game is. I coach at a number of levels and to my mind I want every team I coach to win. That doesn’t mean I would get them to do anything whatsoever to win and their mentality is thankfully not that. They push it as hard as they can but won’t go over the lines. A very simple example, I was at a blitz the other day with one of the teams and we brought only players who were on the age. There were several clubs, including one of the winning clubs, who brought overage players. These blitzes are run on a gentleman’s agreement of integrity that players used are the correct age. I won’t name the club but suffice to say there were questions raised at the time and as the only club from that county at the blitz it was very hard to dispute it. I said to the organiser of the blitz after the event that it was a really well run event but this was a concern for the future blitzes. My opinion is I would rather lose with integrity then win with a shadow over it. What happened last week is wrong, both sides of the fight were wrong. Sometimes you need to accept that and learn from it. The integrity of our games are being whittled away bit by bit and that is making me question my future involvement

The suspensions do appear to be harsh but given the melee Armagh had to expect tough penalties. Hopefully following the full appeals etc the right players get suspended. The issue with Tyrone is complicated as they our out. Another difficulty with GAA disciplinary system.

I understand your frustration but sadly this is not a new thing. You can only do what you know is the right thing and hope for the best. Sure how would you fill your spare time if you quit !

He is correct in that this wouldnt happen at senior level. Unbelievable

He's right, but it should , and then it might stamp it out . We are probably unlucky that we are been made an example of but if a brawl like this takes place the referee should really have the authority to abandon the match . Listen who ever have played football probably has experienced one of these situations before , it’s very hard to stand ‘idily’ by when everyone is swinging around you but it needs to stop , the mentality of players need to change , it has probably cost us any chance of a badly needed Ulster championship and it might not be the popular thing to say on here but it will be a massive lesson for all involved .

I agree. These melees are very ugly and need to be stamped out. A fine is meaningless. No matter what punishment they come up with some innocents will suffer.
I honestly believe the only way to punish both counties/clubs is to deny them entry to the competition the following year. It would be harsh but what other sanction would penalize both sides

disappointing doesn't begin to explain how I and many others feel I am sure, but this must now be turned into a motivator. to hell with Tyrone and the Ulster Council, lets get the heads down and drive on to an Ulster final win

Free the Orchard 10 !!! Justice will be done

It should carry over into senior then.

Otherwise, it'll be like Zidane and his headbutt. Once he became a manager, he should've served a touchline ban.

Same with this.
