Armagh v Cavan - Ulster Semi-final and Replay

Nobody will want an Ulster final more than McGeeney.
The players make as much mistakes if not more than the managers do, once the players cross the white line there is very little the management can do.
Agree. Of course mcgeeney will want to be in Ulster final.
Agree players make mistake.
Dont agree there isn’t much more than management can do when they cross the line. Putting Vernon on McKiernan was a mistake. Taking a scoring forward like Nugent off was a mistake.

Here's who we could get in tomorrows draw, and if we get a 3rd or 4th division team they will automatically have home advantage, otherwise it will be a separate draw for home advantage

Westmeath
Offaly
Fermanagh

Leitrim/Wicklow

Down/Tipperary

Wexford/Derry

Louth/Antrim

Carlow/Longford

Please don't be too hard on the lads. I think we can take positives from this year.

The obvious two are O'Neill and Burns. Our two youngest players.

O'Neill made a few wrong decisions today but my God at only 20 he is some player. The real deal.

Burns was quiet today but at only 21 has done excellent this year.

Jamie was excellent today after a shaky start. Forker and Paul Hughes were excellent last week but our two best players of the championship were O'Neill and Burns.

With those two so young and both very committed to the cause I think that we have a right for optimism.

Indeed both look like leaders already. 3 long battles caught up with Armagh today. But I think we owe a lot to them lads in particular.

For the first time in years there was a buzz around Armagh. There are reasons for that.

The future's bright.

Let's hope for a decent home draw in the back door and commiserations to the players and management today. They gave it their all.

Let's get a bit of momentum and make a good run at trying to make the super 8s. We're not far away.

We lost that game between the 5th and 25th minute. Very poor. Came back well. Got to a point s couple of times but Cavan more clinical.

Ref was ok. However, twice he didn’t give us blatant frees in front of the posts and both times Cavan went down and scored points. Also, they had a boy yellow carded for a high tackle. It was a clothesline. Should have been red.
That said the ref wasn’t the difference today.

On Burns. They were three points up. A ball was played in. Burns yellowed our of going for it initially. When he did it went through his hands. They score. 4 in it and game over.

Not long in from the game, Jamie was brilliant but my god how did he miss that goal chance in the 1st few minutes,, likewise Shields chance in last few minutes would have left one in it, we really need to be taking those chances at this level.
Our defence today wer destroyed, our forwards wer constantly having to shoot under pressure whereas at the other end it was just to easy, 23 points plus they hit the woodwork 3 times in the 2nd half tells its own story

Odd are a away game next weekend as not 2 many div 1 or 2 teams we can draw and div 3 or 4 get home advantage. Need to avoid Monaghan .

The stupidity of Donaghy last week cost us today. We have no leader in defence. McKay did well when came on.

Having looked at the fixtures on GAA.ie I think this round of fixtures is to be played Saturday the 22nd of June. I would like to avoid Monaghan, Down & Derry.

Ones on here looking a easy team in the qualifiers that's ridiculous playing the likes of Antrim or Leitrim is no good for Armagh

Just watched the game there, v good game. Armagh rued those missed goal chances. As others have said we should have got a couple of frees at crucial points in the games, Cavan subsequently went up the field and scored. Jamie & Rian were brilliant. Personally I think the management were far too slow to make changes. Campbell was excellent when introduced. Forker & Burns were very poor. I was watching Galway v Kilkenny earlier, KK forward missed an easy score early in the game, Cody pulled him straight away.

All in all Cavan deserved the win, they were very clinical and only missed 3 scores. 6 point loss is hard on Armagh. Here’s hoping for a decent draw in the qualifiers
