That is some hammering!! Were 'Cruppen missing men?
Was talking to one of the cruppen guys at the game and he says it's the usual with lads at college in England or away for work etc. Only seemed to have 3 subs with them, but they were really really poor. They never looked like scoring until the Tones took 4 or 5 of their better players off to give a few lads a run out. In all honesty, even then the goals for cruppen came from sheer lazy defending and a "sure" it's over" attitude. I will say fair play though to the Carrickcruppen lads for wanting to play until the end and there was a single nasty or stupid foul in the game. Ref was a bit strange though. Wasn't bad, but not good. Gave some very soft frees, both ways, even allowed cruppen advantage and when they put the ball wide, didn't allow a free to be taken. Seen that given hundreds of times.

Carrickcruppen & Shane O'Neill must be missing players both teams aren't going so well,it must be some record score that by the tones,Calm1 must have had his boots on ;)
Yep the big green wellingtons. Tripped a few cruupen players as they ran past and the ref allowed us to play on :D

Think so, they have a training week coming up now in Spain as far as i’m aware.

Portugal not Spain! To me this is a breach of the Club only month of April. GAA HQ indicated when this was brought that Counties who didn't
comply would forfeit one of their home national league games, it will be interesting to see if they back this up!

Cross will have had to supply a senior squad list of 24 players who are ineligible to play for the reserves at the start of the year. If anyone on that list plays for the second team they will get a ban and the chairman could end up getting a years ban as well

Took in the Clans and Wolfe Tones match last night in Francis St with a fair crowd in attendance and a good highly scoring game was had. Firstly I would like say that I am a big yes fan to Friday night games when common sense is prevailed and clubs don't have to travel the distance of the county and players are giving a chance to prepare for a game like any other. Everyone is a winner in terms of gate returns with when local opposition come up against each other and the other as players , have a chance to have some time with friends and family with a possibility of a hard earned beer in between times.
Any how on to the game, the tones came out of the traps quicker and found themselves 4 or 5 up with good play from the inside forwards young Megoran and Judge notching early scores. Clans came back with reply with scores through French and a great individual goal from Soup Campbell. After that it was exchange of scores to the half with the clans just going into the break in the lead with Campbell doing most of the scoring off either feet from acute angles. The second half the clans started to get on top, tones scores where lot more limited the introduction of Shane McPartlan in middle steadied the ship for the clans and managed to score an outrages point from 55 yrds with the outside of the left. Tones had a lifeline when they got a third goal as it looked liked the clans had pulled away. An entertaining game from both sides and some good scoring on display but in the difference in the teams truth be told was Soup Campbell who finished the night with a nice tally at full forward. Tones tried to adapt a number of different ways to counteract his effect on the game with numerous man makers having their go but his scoring ability, power and directing running caused havoc for the tones defence all night and was a treat to watch at times, kicking scores effortlessly and assisting others. I'm sure Clans management sleep easy at night knowing they will have him at their disposal all summer.
