Granemore 2 6
Cullyhanna 5 10
Cullyhanna running up some big scores but letting a fair few in at the other end. In Duffy, McQuillan, Hoey & Nugent they have four good young forwards

Is McQuillan not in the county squad

Think the main squad was cut to 24 and he didn't make the cut.
Curious that the top 2 teams in the senior league have only one county player between them

Maybe. I had a conversation with a Cullyhanna man the other week and we were able to name a first 15 from these 2 teams, Harps and Maghery that are not playing county football that would give the county first 15 a fair rattle. I’m not saying that they’d all be county first 15 but there is a lot of talent still not playing for the county for a variety of reasons.

Is there not 26 in a match day squad? I wouldn't pass much remarks on your statement as all counties will carry 35+ people in case of injuries and so on

As for the top two teams - are you basing it on this years league? We all know the reasons why the cross players arent on the squad (bar paul hughes who is arguably their best player) and others couldn't commit.
No doubt next year other players will go and travel or opt out and some players will be back.
Thats the way teams roll now and we just need to understand that

Clann Eireann well beaten by Ballymacnab. Winning by three at half time. Went to pieces second half and lost by eight.

Always loved this argument. Not saying I disagree either
Would love to hear some names

Well in Cross you would have the James Morgan, 2 O Neill’s, Stephen Morris, Aaron kernan still is as good as there is, Paul McKeown, in Cullyhanna you have Mickey Murray, Sean connell, Aidan Nugent, and now the 2 young lads Ross McQuillan and Jason Duffy, Maghery we had Joe Lavery and in the Harps Declan McKenna, we had other ones but I can’t recall all of them. But that’s 13. As I said there are a variety of reasons and the likes of Morgan will likely play again at some stage in the near future but that’s not even looking below the top 4 and I’m sure there’s other ones in Maghery and the Harps that would cut the mustard

Good battle this evening in Ballymacnab with the hosts winning 1-11 to 0-10. Game was played on the edge and referee let them at it.
James Lavery gave an exhibition of high Fielding and is in great condition . Maghery missed a penalty at a crucial stage which would have brought it back to 2pts , but overall Nab earned their victory with their bench again contributing.
