So did someone clip the ref at the end? also who was the ref?
A quality player, and always seemed to do well anytime he lined out for the county, would be a great addition if he did come back.I like th look of micheal mc kenna hardly able to get him back are we?
Yeah he got decked but didn't see who hit him. Paddy O'Neill from granemore. he wasn't close enough to the play and that was his downfall. IMO he lost contol of the game a number of times throughout, his linemen of Gary Marshall and Raymond Watters (Mr Bed's) were no addition as there were many off the ball incidents. So did someone clip the ref at the end? also who was the ref?
I have to be honest and say I've seen the pictures from Facebook and Twitter that show the Grange #9 and a lad beside him in a grey top throwing balls onto the field. That's sad to see.I was behind the grange dugout and it was actually them that threw the balls on the field whenever they got the equaliser but yes Shane’s was at it too. All an all it was a very entertaining game.
2 extra time games was it not the Mullaghbawn game that only went to extra time along the wayA quality player, and always seemed to do well anytime he lined out for the county, would be a great addition if he did come back.
Also fair play to the Grange, came through arguably the tough side of the draw, two games went to extra time on the way and even yesterday went down to the wire and still found a way to win, fully deserved.
Point out to me again why Shane’s were robbed ? The call of 3 mins injury time was the only disgraceful thing of all . He took at least 4 mins over the sending off there was substitutes and he also took 2 mins to fix his headset and he took a min and half over a lineball dispute with the lines man . There should have been at very least 6 mins of extra time. As for the number 9 I’m pretty sure he’s not that concerned today of what anyone thinks of him .

The red card for the shanes midfielder was deserved but the Grange number 12 should have been sent off for his challenge on Ciaran Mackin in the first half who was in on goal and just taken out of it, no attempt to play the ball whatsoever.
That could easily been one of the Shane's coaches down that end of the pitch that kicked the ball back on not all the coaches from teams stand round their dugout both teams were wearing grey & green tops plus why the hell would a Grange coach kick the ball back on when it was their freeThoroughly enjoyable game of football which went down to the wire. If I was a Shane O'Neills' man I'd be absolutely devastated to lose that game and in that manner. However, congratulations to the Grange - they stuck at it and nailed two brilliant, pressure free-kicks at the death to snatch victory.
Despite there being a couple of ex Harps' men now sporting Intermediate winners medals, I watched as a neutral. The referee I thought was entitled to play the extra time he did. However that time bore little or no resemblance to the "at least 3 minutes" that was announced and that's where the doubt comes in.
As others have pointed out, footballs were kicked on to the pitch with Shanes leading by a point and the Grange with a free and their free taker holding a ball, urgently looking to take the kick. I'd be astounded if those balls were kicked on by Grange men. Indeed, one ball was kicked towards the sideline with the intention of getting it off the pitch and it was booted back on to the pitch by a member of one of the management panels wearing an official bib, from the dugout towards the Niall's Crescent end of the ground.
When Grange nailed a magnificent equaliser, I think everyone would have settled for a draw. Indeed I think everyone expected the ref to blow the game on the kick-out, but there was an audible gasp from the crowd when he played on. My recollection was that a high looping ball was heading into the Shane's defence and a Shanes' defender needlessly pushed the Grange attacker in the back. A nailed on free. The free-taker kept hs head and landed a lovely free, under the highest pressure you could imagine. Respect to him.
Shanes undoubtedly deserved a draw, but you do not always get what you deserve, and despite the custom of blowing a match up when level, it is not the ref's job to give teams what they deserve. If he felt that time was justified, then he was 100% right to play it, and I'd doff my hat to him for his courage - the easy way out would have been to blow for the draw.
Lastly, there are one or two comments here that infer it is acceptable for a ref to get a clip in certain circunstances. That is nothing short of an outrage. For those of us who go to County Board meetings, the challenging situation as regards refereeing numbers has been flagged up consistently. People talk about the inaction of linesmen and umpires - wait till I tell you - those fellas are being asked to make decisions in the most intense and intimidating of atmospheres. Seriously, who the hell in their right mind would do it? It's no wonder that numbers are so short and we have the crisis we have.
Huh???? Where did I say or infer he was? I just mentioned the throwing of balls on to the field!!Referee wasn't decked clipped or whatever

Wondered why I was quoted in your post. I know the drugs and alcohol have skimmed a lot of grey matter, but really thought I was doting!Onlooker did not you big lad
Yeah I’d agree with all of that.Congratulations to the grange on their victory yesterday. However, Shane’s were robbed of at least a replay if not the win. The referee was a complete disgrace and I can understand why he got so much special attention after the game, I some what feel that the referees are too well protected and should have to face up to it when they make such glaring errors in a game of such magnitude. Also, the grange number 9 was acting the clown the whole game, it was all he was good for. Offers very little in terms of skill and fitness he is just a classic clown.
