Ireland Rugby

Anybody watch the rugby this morning. Was hell of a performance from Ireland to win the series.

After bad start in the 1st test they did well to lift themselves off the ground. It seems that Farrell is starting to make a difference.

Great achievement and hopefully they can carry this momentum into the Six Nations and World Cup

I hope Ireland aren't peaking the year before the world cup again, thought that was exactly what happened last world cup cycle.

Ireland are looking great though, the next 6 nations should be fantastic.

Yep which is exactly why the All Blacks take it so seriously and are have been so proud of the fact that up until this they'd only been beaten 3 times before on home soil in these test games
I agree. The level of preparation and intensity involved in each match means it is a lot more than a glorified friendly.

I don't follow club rugby but I do international because I love how passionate every game is. I feel these players put it all on the line in these games regarding of its status as a friendly or competitive match.

I think the level of importance of these games is best gauged by taking in the reactions and words of the players themselves and people who are involved in Rugby. I spoke to a few Rugby heads and they said that many a player would look back on winning a series such as this as the pinnacle achievement of their career. I certainly am taking their word for it. I listened to it on the Radio and the commentator boyo was choked up with emotion at the end. Respect what it means to the people who play the sport and are involved in the sport.
Before the Rugby WC came into being, an international test series such as this held huge status (and I am told it still does).
Munster beat a touring NZ side back in the 70s, a victory that is still an enduring part of Rugby/sporting folklore in this country and the basis of a play believe it or not
