McKenna Cup 2022

What aboutthis team,a new half back line wbich I think is badly needed
1-Hughes
2-Morgan
3-Forker
4-Finn
5-Rowland
6-McCambridge
7-Higgins
8-O. Oneill
9-Grimley
10J og Burns
11 Campbell
12 Grugan
13Turbett
14 R. O'Neill
15 McConville ( Rangers )
Better than previous listed teams. Think Forker needs to be at wing half back to give him more flexibility. But definitely to be played in defence. Although he is a victim of his versatility. Great forward but also our most reliable defender presently. Nice to see new names being considered in defence, because some of those previously selected in defence, for whatever reason, just haven’t performed, despite repeated selection. And that would be my preferred midfield partnership. Turbo deserves an extended run in the team. And a Cross partner for Rian might bring even more out of him.

Those decades were already completed last Thursday night  If I thought it would help us win another All Ireland I'd head off to Lough Derg in the morning, however my Mum keeps telling me that God obviously isn't an Armagh supporter
The hat I got in my Christmas cracker was orange. The omens are good for this year

Now hang on here just a minute, I did what any good person would do in the same situation & posted the team lineout of the team that got an absolute whipping at the hands of those Cavan boys. I couldn't care less if it was their 6th string they fielded, any day Them Uns get a hiding is a good day :D That'll teach em to go on holiday before the McKenna Cup.
I'm sorry but Boris could offer a better explanation than that............. Posting anything which clearly "SHOWS" anything relating to "thon" is unacceptable. Now where's me bottle of wine til I get to this garden party..........Oh and big fleecy thingy??

I anticipate Dooher and Logan to claim Cavan defeat due to effects of long Covid. And seek postponement of Saturdays game

I know. Bad joke

Dogan and Looher unfortunately have Maguire at the front of the bus, so they’ve no need to claim anything. Well, not until later on in the summer when they need to concoct something again.

I get that Forker is versatile but he should be given one role to focus on and that should be defence. The forwards are not a problem whilst defence is therefore keep him in defence.

I dont think the settled 15 will be too far from this. Hughes/magill the question for keeper and id like to see Higgins is it from Maghery? I think he could push the door for a starting place at corner back, others can correct me if he is a better player in the half back line.

From midfield on id say you're right, but nobody is arguing about our quality from 8-15. For numbers 1-7 we are in a bit of disarray. Hughes is nailed on in goals, he had a good year last year in orange and a great club championship for Cruppen. Magill has a lot of potential but also a lot of learning still to do. I dont know the lad personally but have seen him in a fair few Killeavy games and he doesn't appear ready to be the county number 1

For the rest of the defence those are probably the names we will see. The only one of the even close to division 1 standard is Forker. I dont know how anyone could think that this is finally the year that rowland establishes himself as a starter. classy player but lacks pace, size and athleticism at this level.

Not killeavy bias from me but o'hanlon and conor o'neill are also certain to start in the half back line. Geezer likes and trust the two of them.

Whatever happened to the lad James Donnelly from Killeavy, there was definitely a player in him. I completely agree on everything else you are saying btw.

Played national leage a few years ago. But as a defender which wouldn't have suited him, hasnt been back since but still a good player for us

10 changes made and still a strong looking team, great to see. Good few of the lads coming in have serious chance of starting in the big games
