That Donegal result does no one any favours as Kerry will come good and not many take points like yesterday. You look at Monaghan Tyrone Donegal as the teams we need to finish ahead of. This will need 7 points to stay safe as I don't fancy them in Omagh with a league place to play for.

Agreed I thought Donegal probably would be one of the favourites for relegation. So it was a big win for them at the weekend.

But as we saw last year with the Dubs maybe one of the bigger teams will struggle in the league this year. All the teams I feel are capable of taking points off each other.

So wouldn't be overly shocked if a Kerry or Tyrone were relegated

Kerry won’t be relegated. They shouldn’t have let Donegal back into that yesterday, missing most of their team and Ballybofey is near impossible to win in. Anyone else has a chance of going down, should be aiming for wins vs Donegal, Rossies, Galway and Mayo. Kerry will be a big ask away from home when they get lads back.

Be great to relegate Tyrone on last day!

Don't think it is likely they will get relegated. But would have said the same about the Dubs last year.

Monaghan I feel are a definite for the drop. After that it can be any of 3 or 4 teams.

They’ll be thinking the same.

Let’s not get carried away here though. We did very well to beat Monaghan, but there’s six very tough games to go.

Let’s worry about Mayo, without running ahead of ourselves about relegating Tyrone.

I suppose it depends on fitness/form now of McManus, Hughes’s and McCarron. We very easily could have lost to them the other night although we are a better team. Apparently they’ve been in relegation zone in the second half of the final matchday for the last few years but have stayed up. Luck has to run out sometime of course but i wouldnt write them off.

Tyrone don’t look great but obviously can turn it around. Genuinely 7 teams with a chance of going down i reckon.

Strange opening day in Div1. I watched the Donegal game and they started very open and attacking but soon changed when Kerry went 5/6 up. After that Kerry couldn't get inside the 45 let alone score. I still think Donegal will struggle.
Tyrone also looked very poor and that's not taking away from Roscommon. They don't seem to have that same killer instinct they used to have.
The Connaught derby was always going to be a toss up but I was impressed by both teams in spells.
I see Pat Spillane has tipped us to win the division but this is more out of ruling the others out for various reasons than any great belief in Armagh. His line of thought is that we have a balanced, stable team whereas everyone else has either new management (Donegal, Mayo, Monaghan & Roscommon) or are missing key players (Kerry, Donegal, Mayo & Galway) and he just hates Tyrone more than us.

Folks-apologies if this has previously been discussed. But what is the injury situation at the moment? I know Crealey and Higgins are both out-but what about both Mackins? I have heard a few references that both are injured. If so-does anyone know for how long?
With injuires to Crealey, C Mackin and the long term recovery still ongoing for Oisin O'Neil-our midfield options are limited at the moment.

I'd like to know this myself. Connaire mackin was on the bench the other day I think and oisin O'Neill I am near sure had ankle or Achilles injury before Christmas and would be out until summer anyways but dunno about the rest

My understanding is that Oisin will be ready for summer (whatever time point that is defined as?) I'm not sure if that just means he will be ready to take part in training? I would imagine he will need some time to get back to match level.
Ciaran Mackin is a loss if injured. Lad has already spent some time last year getting over a fairly horrific facial injury sustained in training. We had been previously in a position of having quite a few options for midfield to now suddenly finding ourselves stretched a bit for that position. That is if the mutterings are true.

Connaire Mackin was on bench at weekend. Ciaran Mackin is hamstring i think. Is Crealy long term? Big loss.

Jarly Og and Rian can always fill in at Midfield as can Niall Grimley.

I think we should forget about Oisin for this season, just let him get fit and hopefully enjoy a season with Cross and look at it again Oct/Nov... If I am wrong great, but I dont expect to see him in Orange in the next 6 months
