this is why you cant trust this Armagh team and management go 5 points up and you sit back to a average kildare team without their big players

A point dropped rather than won but still plenty of positives, created lots of chances and to be fair both sides found shooting conditions tough. Still disappointing given how we were ahead with 1 min to go but out playing a Kildare team that competed well in league and championship last year has to be seen as a positive, I’ve went from sceptical of our promotion ambitions to being mildly confident

Don't agree with this at all RB.
Am I sure about this? Yes, I'm positive.
I trust them for lots of reasons:
They were able to go 5 points up in the first place
First game in the league
Away from home
Playing up a division from last year
Difficult conditions
Didn't lose!
Heads up and on to the next game.
Anyway, I'm away to listen to my favourite Johnny Mercer and the Pipers song. Great tune....

On route home from Kildare and it feels like a defeat if i’m honest. 5 points up with ten minutes left and we couldn’t see the game out, between Rian dropping one short Kildare then go down and punish us, bug gives a bad hand pass we get punished again. We killed ourselves unfortunately.

Just back from the game, must say I enjoyed it. good wee ground. On the match, we should have been out the gate after the first 15-20 mins. 2 great goal chances and at least 5-6 points missed.

Side were fairly matched and it was a good clean hard hitting game. All the lads gave 100% today. Beat for us we’re Soupy, McShane, Grimley with Clarke showing his class every time he got the ball. I thought he was head and shoulders our best player. Ref was pininkity for both teams but overall was decent enough. I thought shield looks rusty and Morgan had a torrid afternoon marking their best player.

Second half we played well for first 10 mins or so and went 5 up, lovely pass to Soupy for a clinical finish. Then we completely lost our way and shape and allowed them back into the game. Very soft free at the death for their equaliser.

2 points dropped in my view, as we had a barrel of chances to win that game handy.

On the Charlie debate, for me he needs to be starting, far too good a player to be sitting on the bench. Personally I’d like to see him partner Grimley. Anyway that’s the managers perogrative. I’ve a feeling all of our Div 2 games will be tight affairs. Well done lads... good support there as well

Have to disagree with you regarding the ground, hardly fair that the majority of those paying into the stand end up doing exactly that, standing, yet pay the same price as those lucky enough to get 1 of the 50 seats available. However good to see all the plans in the ground to improve it in the near future.

As regards the match, at half time I'd have taken a draw but at full time I was bitterly disappointed with the draw, it really did feel like a point dropped & I think you could see that in the body language of the players as they left the pitch.

I thought once we got the goal we would push on but it just didn't happen for us, a few poor passes, some poor shot selection & too many kicks into the keepers hands cost us the win & a very valuable 2 points.

There are positives to be taken from today, all of which @portadownarmaghfan has provided. Also by my reckoning I think we must be 3rd in the table, I'd happily take that at the end of the league campaign :)

Donaghy is so important to us. He seems to be about the only player we have who senses danger and can position himself to cut out opposition attacks. Hopefully he returns for the Clare match and is given the number 6 berth.

Geezer spoke after the match about old habits of players dropping off. This has been the case for a long time. Is it a habit or a tactic? We have good forwards and it's a pity we can't trust them to play further up the pitch than they currently are.

No point in having grugan, Campbell, O'Neill, murnin and Clarke and asking 3 or 4 of them to drop off. Why not back ourselves and be positive. We are good enough to win promotion if we have a positive game plan. If we don't, mid table mediocracy awaits.
