Jamie Clarke has committed to NY for the Connaught Championship I see.
I came across an article in Sports Joe.ie by Conan Docherty on his return from NY last year, the tag line was...”when I do commit, I’m in” he probably should have qualified that statement with “....for a few months anyway”

I think we need to wake up and smell the coffee on this one lads. The horse has bolted, the deed is done, the die is cast etc etc. Its too latte in the day to worry about it now. In some ways, its mocha do about nothing as we currently have a committed squad that is making pretty decent progress in my opinion.
My view, for what its worth, is a pretty simple one. Firstly,Jamie Clarke has contributed hugely to Armagh football over the years. Last year alone, the goal against Tipp and the shimmy under the Cusack Stand at the end of the Kildare game are priceless memories.
Secondly, Im not a moral guardian or an attendance registrar, im a simple Armagh supporter. If the rest of the squad were happy, id welcome him back if and when he chooses to return. Dont think anyone could argue that a squad containing Jamie would be weaker than a squad without him.
So the orchard county has lost one big apple and i know youd need to be a barista to work out all the arguments. But when its all filtered down, i wish the lad well and sincerely hope that Armagh continue to improve in his absence.

Nah he's still local but NY have threw serious wallet at him this past couple of yrs and he's declined for Armagh. With him out of the pic this year he may well do. Just putting 2+2 together and getting 10

Good luck to Jamie where ever he travels, he sure left both Cross and Armagh supporters with some great memories. A managers job is to field the best 15 available to him on any given day and when those 15 cross the white line you are short of no one.
Couldn't agree more

Anyway back to Sunday. Will be a close game against a team that pushed us all the way last year in league. They are a tall physical team and we haven' met that this year yet. Forecast isn' great for rain and freezing conditions late Saturday and throughout the day Sunday so wrap up warm and get out in numbers. 3 out of 3 and a massive step to promotion before some Ulster matches awaits!

Watched the Kildare games last night again!!! And Jamie interview afterwards, I can’t help but think that his reasons for not playing this year have more to do with Cross than Armagh!! (Did I just say the sayable?) it obviously not a football thing anyway or he wouldn’t be playing in nyc!

Is he on a transfer or an sanction in the states?

Anyway the ship has clearly sailed, we must move on! And I think this is essential for this group of players. The lads and the cross lads for that matter deserve to be treated with integrity, when your trying to develop a group, bring young players on and trying create togetherness, players coming in and out like that will only disrupt the group dynamic.

The whole thing is actually very unfortunate because I have sneaky feeling Armagh football is about to come back big time in the next 2-3 years!!!

Or maybe it has more to do with Jamie and his lifestyle? In case it escaped your attention but Jamie drifts in and out as it suits himself and has done for years. This is his choice and is fully respected. It’s not Armagh’s fault, nor Cross’s doing , its his character and he is a free and easy person who is not into giving his life and times to the GAA. Get over it and leave him where he is and wish him the best. Stop looking for reasons that are not there

Agree with this. Personally I’d love to see him back however. Anybody who doesn’t would need their heads looking at
