Yeah about 3 or 4 miles of it. The Leitrim border with Donegal is just outside Bundoran.

I don't know why that seemed so surreal to me at the time. It was like finding out Monaghan has a riviera.

Apparently that spot (Leitrim, not Monaghan) is considered by the surfing community as bit of a hidden gem.

I’m surprised you didn’t know that, what with you being in the same big hat club as him. He’d be a cousin of Aidan Short would he not? And Clare Short too, the Labour politician, as far as I know.

It’s the Leitrim border with Sligo that is just outside Benidorm!

Yes. Spotted one just outside Ballybay last year just like this. Except it was red.

Had heard there was some connection but it did not click that it was that immediate.

Here's one that might be common knowledge to many, but surprised me after coming across this a few weeks ago while on a trip on the Wild Atlantic Way
Leitrim has an Atlantic coastline.

There’s only one county that is spelled the same in English and Irish. Ironically being the most landlocked county in Ireland it has a Port.

Sunday will be the 7th championship meeting between Donegal and Armagh in Ballybofey, the last time being in 2007 when a last minute goal saw the hosts victorious.
