Was at the Shield semi-final last night in Abbey Park, between St Pauls and Mullabawn. Mullabawn won by 4-14 to 2-14 in what was a very enjoyable and competitive contest. Mullabawn only confirmed victory with a late goal.

Reserve football in general has been enjoyable to watch this year. Games normally aren't spoiled with complicated tactics and are generally played in good spirits ... I saw a St Paul's player congratulate a Mullaghbawn player for one of the goals last night after a good team move! Are the championship and shield finals usually played as a double-header?
