I’m sure some of you are already aware, but Seán Treacy’s are planning legal action against ABC Council over their plans to re-purpose the GAA facility at Tannaghmore in favour of two soccer pitches.
Having only properly been equipped with catch-nets and goalposts in June, it is believed the council were simultaneously negotiating with a local soccer side to take on the lease. Were this to happen it would render the facility unsuitable for hurling and meaning the closure of one of only two council-owned GAA facilities in the wider Craigavon area.
I’m not a member of Seán Treacy’s but am obviously disgusted by this move. ABC’s predecessor was shameless in it’s treatment of our games over the years and it seems nothing has changed.
it is imperative that all GAA members across Armagh and beyond show their support for a club that served Lurgan for almost 50 years. Link for petition below!
