While it is great to get the championship underway, the group stages are a load of bollox. A lot of comfortable away wins in the Senior championship (weather perhaps a factor) with the exception of Mullaghbawn (bate), Cross (drew) and Granemore (only 2 pt winners).

Early days yet but I think Clann Éireann and Cross are out ahead of the chasing pack - no other team with come close to those two.

Agree these 2 are strongest. Top of the chasing pack for me are Killeavy. Perhaps lacking one more scoring forward but asides from that have quality in depth.

Clanns are in the chasing pack alright but Cross should have won that game
Rush of blood from Rian at the end threw the game away for Cross
A pity cos he seemed to have a good game apart from that

No mention of the Clanns on previous 2 posts despite them getting a draw with cross..

Still a bit away I think, particularly when you look at CE man for man compared to the Clans team. CE squad depth massive. Mind you Clans played basically without Soup so he will come back in and contribute massively. Shane Mc P is massive for the Clans. Really growing as a player. Young O Neill (Clans not Cross) continues to impress game on game. He was brilliant for the Clans.

I dont think we will see exactly where everyone is until the group stages are over, i took in 2 games over the weekend and they definitely where not played at the intensity that a knockout game would be. Some teams will improve with knockout, and some good footballing teams may struggle to get to the level a knockout game needs,

How has Oisin Oneill been progressing? Any early possibilities as county additions, oneill from clans?

I thought Oisin was going the right way the couple of times I have seen him. Looks like he could do with trimming a little but he was never slight anyway. O Neill from Clans 100% county material but still young. Extended squad I would say until he is bulked out a little. Looks probably light for county football I would say. Still a kid and a ball of time!

Any predictions ahead of the weekends games?
Some fairly straight forward victories I’d imagine this weekend but a few close ones:

Armagh Harps to edge it v Silverbridge
Clans to edge it v Mullaghbawn
Killeavy to edge it v Maghery
Ballymacnab to edge it v Dromintee
