Killeavy have not impressed me one bit in the championship, infact they should be out so it would not suprise me if there is not much in this one because Granemore turn matches into a dog match as they cannot play football but there is not a part of me that can see Granemore winning this game because they are crap, it would actually be embarrassing for Armagh football if Granemore were able to make it to the county final honestly. It is magherys championship 4/1 still, do not say i didn't tell yous.
Embarrassing!

Disappointed with Dromintee. Everything was in their favour, extra man, Morgan withdrawn, Cross shooting radar well off. A great chance if there had been anything about them but they were brutally poor, especially in attack.
Brutally poor is a very harsh statement. When was the last time a team kept cross to 7 points in a 60 minute championship game before extra time?

When’s the last time a team only scored 1-4 in championship football with an extra man for most of the match?

Was at the Clans v Kileavey game as a neutral and found it enjoyable enough despite missing the extra time drama as we had to leave. Clans will indeed be kicking themselves as the had the game in their grasp for most of the first half yet went in level. Fair play to Kileavey for coming out with the win. I notice Connor O’Neill not listed in the squad - unless I’m blind- is he injured?

Misprint in the programme he was lined out on the 40. Had an influential game.

Cross player kicked Dromintee player. ...with minimal force
Although the intention was there, I taught the dromintee player should of got a yellow. He's going to be a miss for cross for the next game.
Any word on James Morgan he's not having a great run with injuries.

Didn't look good for James Morgan the other night. Especially now with a tight turnaround with the game next Friday

Paudie Hughes shouldn't be refereeing games at this stage in the championship while Crossmaglen are still in it
To be honest, Hughes did cross no favours. Cross would've taken Ballymacnab any day over Maghery! So this point is invalid. The standard of refereeing in Armagh is shocking across the board.

From the games I watched at weekend players that deserve a chnace with the county

Hughes (Forward) Ballymacnab
Mcpartlan Clan Na Gael
O hare (mid) Killeavy
Martin(defender) MCCARDLE (forward) Dromintee
Og Duffy ( Defender) Cross

Og Duffy Cross

Took in the Cross v Dromintee game and thought Og Duffy stood out in what was a poor enough game. Once Cross got to grips with Dromintees plan A of lump it into the square they had no real scoring threat - just dont seem to have the forwards.
What really spoiled the game though as a spectator was the cross supporters - they really need to get over themselves. The constant bemoaning of the referee started from the first minute and it is very annoying when your trying to watch a game. It seems to be ingrained into them as I moved to a different part of the stand at half time only to find it was exactly the same.

Unfortunately, the Cross supporters have been like that for a long time, even when they had their great teams. Not sure if they try to intimidate referees or whether it is an inbuilt feeling of entitlement or they feel that they are superior to others.
I am a big admirer of Cross, and support them when they get outside the county, but some of their fans do let them down badly.

As a neutral at some of their games I have noticed that as well- of course every club has people who are hard to listen to.

It’s probably more amplified in Cross as you get the band wagon supporters out because they’re always expecting to win or be involved at the business end. The most annoying thing for me is when people don’t know the players names on their own team and just resort to shouting numbers.

While I know some of our fans are hard to listen to, like all clubs have ones like that, i have to say there is some merit in the complaints. I don’t get to as many games as I am not in the town any more but a few years back I was at a match most nights at different ages and levels. I am not a ‘ref complainer’ but genuinely I have often questioned what was going on. Perhaps it is an unconscious bias on behalf of refs but in too many games the rules have been applied differently against us than the opposing team. It rarely is the deciding factor but when you see it at so many levels a paranoia can creep in, and who better than us for creating a siege mentality!!

Anyway, like I said it doesn’t win or lose games and generally the better team wins irrespective of the ref
