This was the format pre-covid. Not very exciting and always favours the stronger teams. That said, I still expect a few banana skins in the senior championship.
After asking a friend who is in the know I can confirm that the top team in each group progress to the quarter finals, 2nd placed teams are drawn against 3rd placed teams in a play off to be played in a neutral venue. This will be good, little chance of dead rubbers.

That’s the way it was pre covid I’m almost sure. Croke Park stole the idea from us

Although there has been some debate amongst supporters, the Championship regulations are clear, that the B League teams (those from !B and 2B) will have 2 home games in their group. And although some fans still prefer a straight knock out, the excitement is building towards Wednesday nights draw where North Armagh clubs Clann Eireann, Maghery and Clan na Gael could all be placed in a Group Of Death. The top seeds in the county which will be kept apart are Clann Eireann, Crossmaglen , Madden and Killeavey.

This is how it should all pan out. (host clubs will get a share of the gate)

The seeding for these championships is based on each club's final league position.

The following explains the Senior championship but the same logic applies to the Intermediate series as well:

Teams finishing in the top of Division 1A make up Pot 1 and will be kept apart.

The same for teams finishing the league in the bottom half of Division 1A who are seeded in Pot 2.

Teams finishing in the top and bottom half's of Division 1B make up pots 3 and 4 respectively.

Each group will have one team from Pot 1, 2, 3 and 4 (i.e. two 1A teams and two 1B teams) and they will play

Winner of each group qualifies for Quarter Final directly while the 2nd and 3rd placed teams play off at a neutral venue.

The 4th placed team exits the Championship.
