The red card was a red card, clann eireann also got a penalty. Yes the decisions were sometimes a bit mad but he let the game go and clan na Gael adapted to his way of referring a lot better they didn’t take ball into tackle which clann e did time and time again. Yes some soft frees but I also thought the clann eireann penalty was soft from where I was sat. The better team definitely deserved it. Far far more hungrier and more desire.

Soupy is just a joy to watch and I will end that post with that.

Thing is. He didn't let the game go. He let the game go for one team. Fouls he gave against CE he gave for Clans. Consistently. Its easy to adapt to the referee giving nothing against you.

The penalty was clear. it also took 3min to take as a Clans defender wouodnt leave the small square. Time added on at ejd of half... 1 minute. Its not letting the game go to have 4 men lying on a player and then giving a free against him. It's not letting the game go to ignore stamping.

The red card gave momentum to Clans, yes but most of thier scoring was still from frees, frees CE were not getting in same situation.

Fair enough Opinion. But from my neutral perspective clan na Gael showed more hunger all over the pitch and were deserving winners whoever would have been ref on the night.

Have to agree Faloon let too much slide tonight. Once he was in that territory it started to spiral a bit. It wasn’t an overly dirty game but plenty of bite in some of the tackles.

That said, don’t think CE can have too many complaints. The ref didn’t favour the Clans, in my view he was pretty poor for both sides. CE were 0-8 to 0-3 up at one stage in the second half and didn’t turn the screw. Tried to “manage the game” instead, a bit too early at that. The man sent off can have zero complaints either - it was idiotic what he did for the second yellow, right in front of the ref.

Clans hunted in packs, much like they did v Killeavy. CE probably a wee bit overly confident in their match ups - although they did shackle McPartlan rightly.

Stefan Campbell was the difference tonight.

They won because of the red card. Prior to that CE were in complete control.

But it was a red card. Which wasn’t the refs fault? Yous were also 8-3 up at that stage.
Didn’t say it was. In fact Meehan can count himself lucky he didn’t get a straight red when he got his yellow. 8-2 when the red card happened. Clans got two quick points and went from there. Soupy was superb. Not sure why McCambridge didn’t pick him up second half though

Fair. I acc thought mccambridge started on him In second half but didn’t seem to be beside him for any of it from there on? Strange decision. Maybe he just couldn’t get near him.

He was in him first half and done a good job on him. His run through the clans defence was the highlight of the night for me.
On another note and a big changing point, if our shot which hits the bar goes in, that was game over. Small margins. I said above and I’ll say it again. Fair play to the DLB. They took their chance when it came and have a very good chance of winning it now. I hope they don’t though haha

If cross win tomorrow don’t think they’ll win it. Don’t think they have the defenders for all the cross forwards. But never know madden could beat them tomorrow. I think clann eireann need another top forward before they can go the next step.

This thing about 'hungrier' and hunting in packs is BS.

If you foul consistently when swarming a man, or pulling him back or lying on tip of him and get away with it then yeh... of course that will win the game for you Amd of course you'll keep doing it and look 'hungrier'

Look at the 2nd half free count. That's what kept the Clans in touch.

Yep, that one tiny break we needed could have got us home, but that just wasn't gonna happen tonight.

Ref was shocking tonight and decided the outcome of the game. Don't blame him...blame the county board they appointed him. Disgraceful!!!!!

Anyone who’s ever played in or been to a game with that ref knows that you A. Keep your mouth shut and B. Don’t take the ball into contact. Surely lads at this level aren’t naive.
He (Faloon) obviously thinks Cross (if they get to final) would have a better chance of beating Clans than C.E. And somebody in the county board thinks the same. So that’s what they do then. They role out Mr Faloon who duly obliges. Not the first time that has happened this year.

"For we only know that there's gonna be a show and the Clan Na Gael will be there"

What a performance, coming from a seemingly hopeless position to power through in extra time. The goal took the bad look off it. Was it a square ball? Unsure from where I was.

Some serious performances there tonight particularly from young lads who shouldn't even be ready for senior football. It was a gripping game and the hungrier, more sensible team with the ball prevailed.

Onwards now to the final and sure anything is possible when you have a bunch of lads willing to go the extra mile for their club. It's something special to be part off.

There will be no phone calls this year to Francis Street asking is Gerry there

Hard to comment on tonight without sounding like sour grapes but....

The game was over. Done, dusted, finished until the sending off. Clans offered nothing up to that point.

From then on the Clans upped thier game and Faloon went to town. Everything that wasn't a free for CE was a free for Clans (and moved in 15yards each time for good measure).

Even by that CE had no luck, hitting the crossbar in the final 5min and the post from the follow up.

This was however probably the worst refereeing performance I have seen in football. A referee who is lucky there are not more serious injuries from how he 'interprets' the game. (Is it any womder the County players get blown up every turnaround for poor tackling when clowns like Faloon let players do what they want at club level)

If the County Biard have any integrity Faloon will never referee a championship match at any grade again. Respect my arse, you can have no respect for a clown like that.

If you get beat, fine. If you get done over like tonight, it's hard to take.
If only clann eireann where as good as they think they are they would of won by 20. No balls or heart. Blame the ref is a kop out, both teams would of known in advance what to expect and when it went 15 v 15 in extra time CE where shocking.

Referees are NOT appointed by the county board. They are appointed by the committee in charge of the fixture

Serious amount of whining about the referees performance
It can only be assumed that all the whiners will attend a referees course and start officiating at games so that the standard improves

How many wides did both teams kick?
How many mistakes did each player make ?
How many kickouts ended up behind the 13m line?
How many turnovers in tackles were made?

It's exceptionally easy to pick on the referee - and admittedly seemingly incorrect decisions are made - but it has to be balanced.

In my opinion the TEAM that wanted it most are now in the final

The ref was terrible. We are all for letting the game go, it's adds greatly to the spectacle but when blatant fouls aren't being called continuously and the basic rules are not being applied in a county semi final of course the losing team are going to feel extremely aggrieved. That said CE were 8-2 up with 20 left in normal time and were in complete control. They then only kicked 1 point in the last 40mins of play inc ET. Soupy and McPartland bring the x factor that could well win Clans the Final.

If Clans win the final do they take Dromintees place in 1A next year?
