Who do yous think will get an all-star for clubs. For me for clans Callum O'Neill, Campbell and mcpartlan will get one, Paul Hughes, oisin O'Neill and Rian also, shay hoey and maybe og Irwin for cullyhanna and murnin for st Paul's, I'd like to see O'Hara get one from keady as he shot the lights out most games, and Ross mcquillan deserves one too didn't see much of junior so couldn't say who from there

Chris Crowley and Callum Comiskey marked O'Neill and Soupy out of it in the final - so I'd have them in with a shout. Aaron K also worthy. Ross McQ based on the final alone deserves one.

I think it means “Dirty Lurgan Blues”
Thought (maybe naively) it was Da Lurgan Blues

Is Clans or a Lurgan thing in general the fondness of nicknames?
When discussing past and present players for the DLBs, always seem to be talking about Tidsy, Bumpy, Buckshot, Budgie, Twin (Hendersons), and more recently Soupy. Anyone else I have forgotten?

Aye the children often refer to name calling when they know they aren't cutting on the field, its a age old tactic, if you stoop to that level then you have already lost the argument. But it still seems to get a wee rise and more muppets are now on the band wagon with the wee likes. If it makes them happy then let them at it. I was just over it when you guys have re-ignited it :)

But yes there's a lot of nicknames around the Lurgan area, I just assumed all areas where the same lol

Well the DLB’s are going rightly from then, won an intermediate and got to a senior final and won few underage titles. Must be doing something right!

Its something I haven't thought about that much but now it's the topic it does seem to be prominent in these areas lol.

Yeah the Clans are going alright and its been down to a lot of hard work. I am cautious of getting above ones station though as theres nothing guaranteed in the future.

A good foundation has been set though.

Eire Og always seemed to have lots of nicknames from anytime we were playing them
Probably. I only remember a couple from the generation of Eire Og teams I grew up with. But thats a while back.
Even Portydown (Bisto anyone) didn't seem to have as many as Lurgan.
Don't mean this to sound like a bad thing or poking fun. This came from a conversation with my Father about old classic games involving the Clans. Recalling lineouts including names like Budgie and Buckshot give those teams a myth like aura. Think its class.

No Morgan for the Ulster club campaign anyway. Hopefully see him back in the new year

Yeah Bisto is another seems to be around the area like Tubey. Thankfully being tiny with a name like James I was left alone. Could have ended up being called Big Ji.............. ah shoot!!
