Just seen highlights on twitter and the camera view shows distancing

Face coverings not mandatory outdoors

I think I can trust my own eyes, I watched the entire match on Armagh TV & it was clearly evident there was very little social distancing between spectators, particularly at the end of the match.

As for the facemasks issue at matches the directive is "The use of face coverings is strongly advised for everyone over the age of 13". It's on the Armagh GAA facebook page & no doubt was on their Twitter account as well.

I am well aware that you are an advocate for getting things back to normal & having a "life goes on" mentality but I would feel much safer attending a match if I thought people were wearing masks & there was stringent social distancing in place, what I witnessed today & from watching another match would discourage me from attending matches. I'm sure that while there are many who would disagree with my opinion there will be others who feel the same way.

Yes, I’d totally agree with you there (in bold).

I only witnessed one fan wearing a mask today. Although, having watched a lot of matches and highlights lately, she was probably the only one I’ve seen with a mask in all those matches!

Strongly advised but not compulsory. I wear my mask in the shops and get annoyed at those who don’t. But I was at a club game today and didn’t wear a mask. Didn’t see anyone wearing them. It didn’t really bother me to honest. I dont think there is a grave danger in that sort of situation

You wouldn’t say that if some eejit was roaring like a madman, spitting his tea all over you.

Changed times when social distancing gets more comments than Cross losing a County final! :D

Before I comment on match. People were seated in every other row and if you went to sit in a row others were in you were asked to keep 2 seats at least a part. I had plenty of space around me. Only saw 2 older gentlemen wearing masks. To be fair I never thought of wearing them but like Niall it annoys the head of me when others dont wear them in shops !

As for the match. Only when I read here did I realise Morris didnt start. He would be a big miss around the middle for Cross. Defensively Cross were all over the place. Maghery were well organised and I thought Aidan Forker was immense. Cross had quite a number of young players and , as we all know , will be back.

First off, commiserations to Rangers on yesterday's defeat. It doesn't matter how many riches in terms of silverware you have accumulated over the years, defeat still hurts when it comes around. On the other hand, congratulations to Maghery - a wonderful achievement and I'm genuinely delighted for them as they have shipped a lot of defeats in County Finals over the years. They were very generous to us in 2017 when we pipped them in the Final, so great to see them get another big day.

I know that some of the talk coming out of Cross this year that I had heard, was talking about vulnerability given that there was a significant turnover of personnel. However, my sense was that any team that can field with the O'Neills, James Morgan, Cian McConville, Paul Hughes, the Kernans and others such as Kyle Carragher, represent a formidable club side at any level.

I wasn't sure about Maghery this year. They were worth their victory over Dromintee and comfortably beat the Ogs in the semi-final, but struggled against Clann Eireann. However the nature of the victory over Killeavey suggested that maybe Rangers did not have the dominance of old.

I didn't go to the final and all I saw was the goals from the game, but my immediate reaction from that was that Rangers did not appear to play any sort of sweeper system and simply went man for man. Be interested to hear the views of those that were there.

I hope this gives Armagh football a bit of a shot in the arm and possibly some teams can start to reevaluate their performances in the light of how things panned out and in turn maybe look to the future with renewed hope and belief, e.g. Clann Eireann who gave Maghery such a tight match in the quarter-final.

Can only be good for senior football in the county if things even up a bit. Clann Eireann and Killeavey just needed to be a bit more composed at the death in the semis and they both could have won.

Great game of football, Cross shot themselves in the foot by leaving so much space in their full back line.

Crealy was a great addition when he came on. Really didnt think Cross would have been beat this year but fair play to Maghery they took their goal chances.
