Just finished watching the program from the other night about the soccer split in Ireland.
Michael O’Neill had said he thought a neutral anthem would be better for the NI team, similar to what thon rugby crowd had done (with that awful Ireland’s Call) to be more inclusive towards northern nationalist players. NI fans and Snarlene herself were against removing GSTQ (unsurprisingly), and said it should remain.
Anyway, just wondered what people’s feelings were on here, regarding the anthem (and the Irish flag) being played (and flown) at GAA matches.
Are they needed at every match?
Should they be removed to entice more unionists to the GAA?
Are you happy with how things are?
