My Da.Who you got lined up to replace him?
I’d like someone from outside Armagh to get it. Fresh start. No favourites with players. There’s no way McGeeney can get another year unless he reaches an AI final.

Something wrong if a senior intercounty player is missing a free shot from that range tbh.Nothing baffling about the marks. They were too far out, too far wide. Soupy had already tried one from the same spot and got it wrong. And Jarly Og certainly not the man for a mark in that position.
The reference to kicking it back from the marks is not a valid criticism. First mark too far out for Jarly. Second one on wrong side for soupy. Actually, they then got a 3rd mark from that play in a far more favourable position. If TK score that it’s a masterclass in game management. He misses it then we blame our game management. Can’t win on this forum.4 up pressing kick outs and we stopped....2 marks kickable in the hands of forwards near the end and we kicked backwards! Brains were missing .
Subs were baffling. Hall playing left back while mccambridge and mackin sat on bench
Soupy slipped after he caught his too, that would be unsettling when you don’t have the same time to take kick a mark as you would for a free, on top of him knowing he missed from that spot earlier.Nothing baffling about the marks. The way their keeper was under high ball, you give it a go?Nothing baffling about the marks. They were too far out, too far wide. Soupy had already tried one from the same spot and got it wrong. And Jarly Og certainly not the man for a mark in that position.
In the first half we gave them the short one all the time yet Donegal pushed up on ours felt Blaine had to work way harder to get kick outs away for the most part, Armagh finally pushed up and scored 2 in a row then dropped off again, I understand nothing pushing up all the timeSoupy slipped after he caught his too, that would be unsettling when you don’t have the same time to take kick a mark as you would for a free, on top of him knowing he missed from that spot earlier.
Jarly og seemed to call the mark because he slipped and had a Donegal man on top of him if he didn’t call it. Shooting was an after thought the not the plan.
Those two were both relatively early too, both before 70 mins so there wasnt really time pressure to get a score quickly. TK missing is evidence they weren’t easy shots for lads who aren’t free takers.
Our defence did exceptional in the final quarter in fairness. Donegal only got two shots both from the 45 in the last 16 minutes and we worked a couple of great turnovers. We had a couple of harsh enough frees against us in possession, the soupy one pushing out to rian, on mackin after a poor hand pass from grugan and when we had bottled up a Donegal player after grugans ballooned shot. Those 3 incidents plus Rian’s ballooned shot were the only times they won possession off us after Blaine’s poor kickout at 15-13, so those frees were hugely impactful calls.
They only had one kick out after it went 15-11 which was off TK’s mark, not sure which kickouts we dropped off that people are complaining about.
and 20+ votes from the county board executive.............Clubs vote on management ……
Malachy O'Rourke won't come to Armagh. He will be the next Derry/Tyrone manager.Me personally I think if the manager goes we have to look outside the county, I'd like someone like Horan or malachy O'Rourke, someone with a fresh ideas and no bias, and I'm not mcgeeney in or mcgeeney out as there are pros and cons to both
Mc geeney is getting every ounce out of those players .My Da.

He should have scored it, simple as that. But I’m not going to single out anyone as every man on the field made mistakes as happens every game- plenty of others had wides or made a wrong pass or let their man get free etc.The reference to kicking it back from the marks is not a valid criticism. First mark too far out for Jarly. Second one on wrong side for soupy. Actually, they then got a 3rd mark from that play in a far more favourable position. Very few people who will ever read this have the talent to be asked to take a pressure penalty. Even less have the balls to say yes. I have neither the talent nor the balls. So firstly I salute Shane McPartlan. He stood up to represent us.
Secondly, our season is VERY far from over. So talk of managerial sackings are a bit off yet. I do have a view on the performance of the current management and others are entitled to theirs but mid season sackings are the stuff of delusional minds.
We did a lot right today but still there were clear patterns in the problems.
When we press opposition kickouts the outcomes are better. So the decision to not press for long periods is based on what exactly?
When the opponent is struggling with the pace and intensity of the game we remove both the pace and the intensity. What is the logic here?
We have massive strength in depth. When we are losing our way in the final quarter why do we not make changes until the very end?
Season not over. Winnable group games. Need to show character
For me there is one real leader on the team - Oisin O Neill, but no good throwing him on with 10 mins left when the lead had already been blownCan we not talk about new management. I'm not a huge fan of McGeeney but 90% of the time I feel I am fair when criticising him. I don't think yesterday was his fault, the team collectively fell apart which is hallmark Armagh.
I don't think we have any real leaders on that team or anyone who wants to make that claim, it's really odd to see. I do wonder how the team would perform with Rafferty, he seems to pick himself up and go time and time again.
Just on the mention of Oisín, thought this was very classy from him and he is a credit to the team. For me there is one real leader on the team - Oisin O Neill, but no good throwing him on with 10 mins left when the lead had already been blown
Horan for his record of getting over the line in big games?Me personally I think if the manager goes we have to look outside the county, I'd like someone like Horan or malachy O'Rourke, someone with a fresh ideas and no bias, and I'm not mcgeeney in or mcgeeney out as there are pros and cons to both
On the assumption McGeeney is here next year the next step would be to bring in someone from the Dublin 5 in a row teamHoran for his record of getting over the line in big games?
No matter who would come in it would be a total gamble. In fairness to mcgeeny he's brought in donaghy and gilligan in to freshen things up, it's not like he's not trying something different. They were the ones telling the forwards to slow it down too, which is the biggest complaint people have. The new training facility will be the next change for the team which will naturally freshen things up. We don't need wholesale change we just need to find that extra bit of a killer instinct from our forwards. Someone new will be starting from scratch instead of focusing in on that problem.
Let's not forget the mess other counties have had replacing managers too. This isn't the premier league where you've options coming from all over europe for the job. Mayo weren't in a bad place and they ended up with Kevin McStay, I'd doubt we'd be too happy if we dropped McGeeny for him. Their other option was Dempsey who was chased out of Limerick with McConville who's doing poor enough with Wicklow. There's not many good managers out there to get.
