What’s happening Armagh Senior hurling?

I’m no hurling expert by any stretch but I do keep an eye on results and can’t help noticing Armagh are winless in their Division 3A campaign. We have just succumbed to a defeat away to Cavan, a county who IIRC didn't field at senior level up until fairly recently.

The team remain bottom of Division 3A with relegation looking ominous. Once upon a time not that long ago, Armagh hurling was below only Antrim, Derry and Down - we look to have slipped badly down the pecking order. Is there any particular reason for the downward trajectory?

We were actually competing with Antrim in a couple of Ulster finals before the competition was scrapped and were beating the like of Derry and Down along the way. That's sad to see

Seems to have been a fair drop off alright. Few years ago Keady were competing for Ulster intermediate and Middletown were going rightly in the senior, both seemed to have dropped well off.

The armagh county board scrapped the armagh leagues about 10 or 12years ago, this left the armagh clubs playing in poorly run ulster leagues which ment very few games, this has had a major impact as the armagh leagues are only back up and going again about 2 years. Also i dont believe we have even half of the best hurlers in armagh playing county hurling.
