Fair enough i do remember the Derry match again i say we had a 3:1 spilt in the crowd.... that was a big stand to take walking out .

The soccer culture thing i don't agree entirely i think its young lads having a bit of crack and i suppose the closest thing that we have to GAA / Hurling is 'soccer/rugby' and the crowds there can we very vocal . I've noticed in Armagh matches recently a big drop in the vocal support since the Noughties and it is only starting to come back now , i don't think we can be choosy how supports us as well , I've been to The McKennas league when we were in 3 and it can be a whole pile worse with the negative commentary by 'seasoned supporters ' including myself as well , which the players could definitely hear , you ask them what they would pick and im sure id know what they would choose.

Also on a lighter and less serious note, we have pretty poor chants the old 'ARMAGH ARMAGH' isn't very original , I was actually smiling when I heard the Dah dah dah dah dah dah dah Jarly Og , Jarly Og , Jarly Jarly Og . Then again I'm easily pleased .

Of course as i have said before the booing of individual players needs to be knocked on the head
I should have said walking out of Clones after the match :)

That was class.

I know it's not realistic to expect to convert every goal opportunity but in both recent games our conversion rate was poor enough. We were handed 2 gifts in the first half and very near blew both. The penalty decision could have gone against us. Another in the second half when a flick across was chosen when it wasn't really on. Just fear in tighter games failure to convert could be the difference in winning and losing.

True although I’d be more worried if we weren’t creating them. I think with the way we play we will create at least 3/4 big goal chances against any team. Rian, Murnin, Nugent, Duffy, Grugan and others all very dangerous when the ball is kicked in.

Yep butchered 3 goal chances . You would have to think the Soup one he would score that 99/100 , the others were poor execution we need to be more clinical.

Sunday was such a great day for the Armagh team and the supporters. We've all waited a long time for a win like this over Donegal. Apart from a 15 minute spell, I thought we were excellent and totally dominated Donegal. All their main players were more or less snuffed out. Murphy had little impact was shut down by Forker only scored one from play. McBrearty was totally anonymous with Morgan doing a great job on him. McHugh and Ban Gallagher had little impact going forward and were forced into more defensive duties and their midfield didn't have nearly the same impact. We unsettled them and played at an intensity that they just couldn't match.

Rian O'Neill was from another planet he was that good. He's one of the top players in the country without doubt. The only thing I think that is missing that sets the like of David Clifford and Con O'Callaghan apart from him is they play consistently at the highest level match after match. He's a very different player to them in that they are out and out forwards, while he does a bit of everything. But if he can continue to be a consistent scoring threat, hitting five to eight points a game, we will go a long way.

I think Ben Crealy has really stood up the last two matches. He's obviously a huge man and can get around the field, but there have been questions in my mind about his ability to really mix it in the engine room. He's been brilliant recently, doing a huge amount of dirty work and clocking up serious distance. His role in the first goal was massive and he laid on the third.

Conor O'Neill, Jason Duffy, Greg McCabe and Rory Grugan also had big games on Sunday. The fact we are played so well without the Mackins, Burns, Grimley and Oisin O'Neill is a real testament to the strength of the squad.

Very serious questions had to be asked after the first Donegal match. It was a total shambles and followed a worrying pattern that we've seen far too often. However the last two wins have been of the highest calibre. Yes they've been against a Tyrone side that have been out of form and a Donegal side that have been labouring and look like are having an identity crisis. But our attitude has been spot on and will go into the Galway match full of confidence. This is a really tough game to call. Galway have some serious footballers in Shane Walsh, Paul Conroy, Matthew Tierney and Damian Comer to name a few. They are Connacht Champions and will fancy their chances in the wide open spaces of Croke Park to use their pace to get after us. I think we have the players to match them and have better forwards. If we can get a few back from injury, then I can see us beating them and setting up a semi final with Derry.

Whilst I totally understand your sentiment, OIF, I didn't sense any concern from delegates when this was outlined at last night's County Board meeting. My sense is that - on this occasion anyway - there should be no shortage of tickets, with all supporters able to directly access tickets for their preferred area of the ground and it will save a lot of hassle for many overworked Club officials.
Rufus, totally get your point here, everyone can appreciate the clubs can do without the extra admin and there is no question online is the way forward. However, the club member deserves more.
Surely there has to be a simple system that could be implemented to give club members priority access to tickets while not directly affecting the club admins.

E.g every club member is allocated a GAA membership no. which in turn is associated with GAA club. Would it not be possible for ticketmaster to offer tickets on Day 1 using this membership no to gain access? Then throw ii open to the general public on Day 2.

Listen I’m sure it’s not just an issue with Armagh but I think it’s a point needs raised at a higher level.

For the supporters who have followed Armagh everywhere through good and bad times it feels a lot like getting thrown to the ticket wolves.

There is. It was implemented last year re: Covid restrictions. Club allocated the tickets to members and members downloaded them and paid for them via ticketmaster. They have chosen not to in these cases. Anyone know what they did re: Ulster Final tickets?
