Look we need to win against whoever we got.

I would expect us on Saturday actually as the 2nd game with Dublin on Sunday and Mayo.

With no 'repeat pairings' in the semi does that mean that we can't get Derry or Tyrone in the semi?
That’s what he said.

Increases the chances of getting the Dublin/Mayo winner.

Have to beat Monaghan first.

Monaghan do dig in. They have incredible resolve. Nothing is easy against them.

Loads of big men. Kick outs are massive.

It’s not the McManus show any more. McCarron can be unplayable one day and anonymous the next. One thing he does do is that if he is being bossed close to goal he drifts further and further out and relies on his long range kicking. His marker must be mobile and comfortable out the pitch. Shutting down Bannigan and the wing back runners is key.

Mayo would have been a worse draw

That's what Larry McCarthy was saying so that means we can get everyone bar Tyrone if we win.

That's as good a draw as we could have wanted. Cork and Monaghan on paper are the weakest teams left, but still have a lot of quality. We have to win this one. We won't get a better chance to make an All Ireland semi-final. Monaghan are an ageing team, who had a heavy match against Kildare and the week before against Donegal. We've had a week off, will have Rian O'Neill back (and hopefully James Morgan, a few others and maybe Oisin O'Neill) and will be fresh and ready to go. We know Monaghan are dogged and drag you down to their level and have some class players in Karl O'Connell, Conor McCarthy, Jack McCarron and Conor McManus. But we've also seen that some of these players are on the wane and can go missing in games. Discipline will be absolutely key. No stupid macho stuff. No complacency. Just get the job done.

I did. larry mc carthy was asked at the very end
he said no repeat pairings for the semis
So let’s say the 4 winners are Kerry Mayo Cork and Armagh

That means Kerry would have to play us, because they’ve played Cork and Mayo already? So, there would be no draw?

Yes and he said as much
he said draw may not be required, depending on results

Am I the only one that is nervous about this draw? For some reason I just didn't want Monaghan. Take on board the points though that they have played 2 tough games 2 weeks in a row. Know our lads won't be complacent though which is a good start. Big week ahead.
