This division is so close it's nearly impossible to predict who'll finish where, we're one win from safety and hopefully we get it this weekend to take the pressure of us a bit then see where it takes us after that. If Fermanagh beat us we're in trouble as I don't think we'll beat Roscommon and would you want to be going into the last game away in Clare needing 2pts with our record. In saying all that a win this weekend changes everything.

Regarding defending...it's really frustrating that we're either too open thru the middle or giving soft free's from bad tackling, I think we're a couple of defenders short of a good defence. When BD is fit he is priceless in defence (not the quickest but has good positioning sense), J Morgan could be a great defender if he'd stop giving silly free's (not every tackle has to take the middle out of the man). What about an Andy Mallon and Francie Bellew in your team or a younger KMcG in the centre of your defence? In saying all that the way the game has gone now Francie and KMcG physical attributes may not be suited to today's game

It is fair to say that we have an excellent forward set up. The players from underage that we have brought in recently have all been basically forwards and we have developed them fantastically well and that needs to continue.
But however its been a long time that we have developed a top top defender, the likes of a johnny cooper etc from our underage set ups.
I hope, geezer and his co went to that u20 game on saturday as there was some excellent defenders on show and he needs to continue to develop them as this is the part of armaghs team that obviously needs worked on.
From note of saturdays game and from watching other underage and senior club games the couple of lads who need developed on to become top class defenders would be the likes of mccormick from annaghmore, the lad is an athlete already extremely fit and reminds me of an andy mallon, geezer needs him developed for future. Martin from dromintee is an excellent full back and also an extremely good man marker. He did his job on canavan on saturday excellently and if canavan was getting game time for tyrone seniors last year, there is no reasons why these lads can't be brought into our panel and developed as defence really needs worked on if we are gonna remain a good team and bring it to the top not this year but for the next few years as to be honest the likes of donaghy aint getting any younger

Problem 1 - Westmeath worked us out after 15/20 minutes and we didnt adapt out style of play
Problem 2 - Not holding any defensive shape ie centre back needs to be on the 45 as a starting position when opposition attack
Problem 3 - Kick outs - we have 4/5 big men let the ball out to them
Problem 4 - Still a lack of leadership - i think Donaghy and Morgan must start all games
Problem 5 - Jamie Clarke needs to start and play him and Rian closer to goal
Problem 6 - Need to be a little better at the dark arts !!

Have the Quigleys opted out of the Fermanagh team this year?

Sunday’s game will be won or lost around the middle. Fermanagh’s most influential player is E Donnelly. Think we should put Grimley on him to do a like for like job (similar to what he done again McKiernan of Cavan in last year’s championship)

Aye the quigleys left the panel this year. They also have Ritchie O Callahan operating as a breaker between their 45 and midfield, doesnt stray to far from their.

I disagree, We need a year in Div 1 to really bring this team on. Don’t get me wrong, I think we’d seriously struggle (like Meath) and would probably go back down, but playing the Dubs, Kerry, Galway etc is worth 3 years in Div2. At least the lads will see what level they need to get to. Even though Meath have struggled you can see them improving in Div 1 and they have Kerry plenty to think about at the weekend
But another year in division 2 would be our third year :D Okay I'm only leg pulling as I completely agree with you!
