That was a good win last night and one that puts us squarely in the hunt for promotion. Fermanagh are limited at the best of times, but losing Che Cullen, Eoin Donnelly and Conal Jones will have had a massive impact on the final result. I fully expected us to win, but that score was a little surprising, but entirely welcome, as it boosts our points difference massively, which will act like an extra point. The game next Saturday against Roscommon will be electric and is not to be missed! Let's win it and seal promotion at home and not have to go to Ennis, under pressure to win.

One massive improvement last night was Blaine almost always kicking the ball out long. We may not win them all but when we do the platform for attack Is so much better. We are almost unstoppable when we move it quickly from those kick out wins.

Murnin could benefit from the mark, he has great ball winning ability.
The opposition sweeper will have to focus on him for that very reason and that should free up a bit more space for Jamie to do damage.

Him and Turbitt playing alongside each other at FF would also go a long way to getting past blanket defences with a quick high ball in.

This is a bit of a funny one for me.

A return to action of a fit Murnin would obviously be great news.

But I wouldn’t get too carried away with his mark winning ability. His ability to edge what should be a 50:50 tussle for possession is phenomenal but that isn’t really what the mark is about. We don’t seem that tuned in to exploiting the mark. Clarke with his movement and burst of pace is as well placed as anyone to win a mark but we don’t look for it.

It’s something we could do more with. It calls out for a 3 man full forward line with Clarke top of the right and a right footer top of the left

Very hard to make room in forwards for Murnin...shields into defence is a option for Sheridan. Still think we need another CHB

I think a fit murnin would be an automatic starter, however, given his injury record and games missed over the years I can't see him starting anytime soon unfortunately

I agree. I think that when he's fit, he's almost unmarkable when the right ball is put into him. But as we all know, his injury record is a real problem and I find myself watching him, waiting for him to pull up. What I find troubling about hamstring injuries or any recurring injury really is surely when you're coming back from training at some point you're going to have to test the injury to the same degree that you would in a game, so why then, when players are given the all clear to play, do they pull up again with the same injury? Hasn't that player being doing hard sprints in training and playing in house games to test it? Or are they just holding back ever so slightly in training, for the fear of re-injuring it, but then in a game, when you have to go 100%, the injury is only really tested then and fails? Either way, I'd love to see him back and a fully fit Ethan Rafferty, as I think they give our team another dimension.

On a side note, has anyone else noticed how McGeeney keeps naming the same team week after week and then there are a few changes on it? Why doesn't he name the team that is going to start? Not that it really matters. I wonder if it's just a box ticking exercise which he doesn't agree with, so if you are required to name a starting team, he just gives the GAA the same one every week, as a way of being thran!

@Patrick-Armagh naming teams are a thing of the past now. Used to be a big deal seeing who was in or out, who was fit etc. It’s all mind games now from managers. The sooner this naming a team is done away with, the better.

Sure we even have a saying on here about the starting 15. Can’t recall the exact words, but I’m fairly certain it was thon eejit @Big Jim who started the tradition

Surely this team naming non-sense is only being kept in place as an excuse to sell programs. Surely team naming should be left until 30 mins before throw-in in line with other sports.

Thought the team played well on Saturday good to see Clarke back inside we all know how good he is..Kennedy is a player who makes the team so much better great to see him playing great to have options.. Fermanagh were terrible! Massive game on Saturday looking forward to it and hopefully promotion.

Great win over Fermanagh at the weekend. Always nice to beat Ulster rivals. Anyhow, let's keep our get firmly in the ground as Roscommon are visiting this weekend and a rival contender for promotion.

This is where Armagh will show their mental resolve. We are within touching distance of promotion and a win will set us up nicely for the championship. Staying in division 2 would be bad as promotion guarantees 2 years of top tier football in the championship and experience against teams who do well in the championship which is what we need.
