At this stage when there hasnt been a game in 7 months plus I'll wish well to ever I like too,nothing wrong wishing your club men well when their playing for the county

We played and beat them by a point way back - I would guess December 1980. I remember getting the autographs in the Pearse Og Club rooms after the match, as that team had beaten us in the All Ireland semi-final that year and just missed out to Kerry in the final. Would definitely have that somewhere still.

On 14 December 1980, not a high scoring game!


The previous year Roscommon also came to the Athletic Grounds and were beaten 1-11 to 0-10.

Happy enough with that team although I'm surprised Turbitt isn't starting, maybe he still will. I'm glad to see Kennedy included he is very steady. Also great to see Jamie starting, you would imagine he is well ready after such a long break with no distractions. Soupy and Forker should both be on a high after winning MOTM in their respective finals and winning the finals!! Oisin and Rian were both miles ahead of the pack in the club championships with Oisin in particular in brilliant form and eclipsing his younger brother which is some feat in itself.

I suppose the thing about our current panel is we have players that can be used to suit particular situations/teams. On a different day Turbo would start over Hall but Jemar performs a very different roll and maybe that is what is needed today.

Anyhoo, good luck to all, like the rest of you nerds I would love to have been going to tonight but the sofa will have to do.
