Clare away was never going to be an easy game and they give us our fill of it. They are a decent side. That was a good win to take us back to division 1. But it also leaves us knowing we have to improve in defence as between the first water break and the second water break we really drifted out of the game. Our defence gave away needless frees. Clare scored 8 from frees and missed a couple as well. So we have definite room for improvement and especially on the discipline front. However the main objective has been achieved. We are back in division 1 and that should have been the overarching goal this season. So no mater what happens next week or in the championship, we have had a successful year. Back in division 1 with work to do. We need to use this as a springboard to move forward. Once again well done all involved.

I reckon some people here may be a bit disappointed we have actually gone up
Thats rubbish!!! every Armagh supporters wants them to win hence the term supporter, but being realistic we go into our shell when after working so hard to build a lead, which then feeds into us becoming naive and giving away silly free's in scorable positions.. its just nerve wracking to watch lol, but we got promotion which is what it was all about, now roll on Derry next week and give ulster a good rattle.. by the way great 2 see Cathal McKenna making an impression and winning 2 balls which we converted from frees, tasty player

Fair play. Big improvements obviously needed for D1 but showed great character to pull away again at the last. Well done to Oisin O’Neill with 2 huge scores late on

I think we are by far the best team in Div 2 this year unfortunately we are also one of the worst when we switch off in games. It is so frustrating and I just can't understand how it happens. It's not just this year we have been the same for some time. Watching today's game it looks like the problem arises when a team switch tactic mid way through the game. Geezer has always been poor at making changes during a game and to me that is what our problem is.
Pat Spillane was very complimentary in his commentary and I think we can live with some of the best teams in the country but if we don't rectify the switch off problem then we will be hammered.

Thought we started Brilliantly
Struggled in second part of first half and really dug in until last ten minutes of the second half when we stepped it up again.
Remember we hit post a couple of times also.
All in all great result and plenty to work on.
Ref was fair because if it had been gough he would have been harsher on us.
For me roll on next year and genuinely looking at the O neills they are fabulous Gaelic footballers.

Great to get promoted and next years goal should simply be to stay up and solidify. We are a few defenders from the next level but we are not that far off. Geezer has his critics, me being one of them but this year has seen steady progress. I still think he needs assistance on some things as defensively there are concerns but bit by bit the team is improving. That organic way of developing is much better than a big burst and then a blow up!

Absolutely sir. I remember saying, on the old forum, that if we take gentle steps forward we have much less of a distance to fall back. I was ripped into completely for being negative and not wanting us to win!! Possibly the most baffling reply I ever got but several others rolled in behind it, including a number on here now who flip flop.

Loosing hurts and really frustrates. We can all acknowledge that, but few remember that even a mighty team like Dublin had a major baron spell of building and trying. Finally they got going and a great manager and a super squad of players allowed them success. I can't see us ever being multiple champions, but being able to complete with the best has to be achievable. An Ulster title will surely be the next target and then let's see.

Regardless of opinions, there are those on this forum that are not happy unless we're losing and then have a bash at either the manager/ment or the keeper. Anyone is entitled to look back and see the identical comments about keeper after keeper for as long as these forums existed. Rarely if ever do they comment when Armagh win and even then it's as negative as can be. As others have said, including myself, criticism is fair and justified when it's justified. Today the team won and achieved division 1 status. Still some have a pop at the keeper and the management. Maybe it is just a case of being jealous that they didn't get picked.

Ah well. At least we have real life to focus on!
