Hope everybody enjoys the rest of their evening as much as possible, with everybody getting home safely.

Tomorrow is a new day and will comment more on the match then.
Same as that Stevie. I was disappointed from the get-go as I thought we played right into their hands. Worth a discussion tomorrow.

Sitting in traffic getting texts left right and centre from Monaghan 'friends', and it's really really hard obviously. Do we have to face the fact that we are just not very good? Talk about management etc etc but if we have near enough the best of the county on the field and can't perform, then what? I'm not having a dig lads, I'm just really low right now

Maybe. I'm no management apologist, definitely not, I just think our top lads on the park should execute better, be smarter, cuter. In my humble opinion. We won some amount of ball today

Tough night lads , one of the toughest I’ve experienced, I’m at a wedding and I’ve spent the past 4 hours watching the match on my iPhone because the bar doesn’t have GAA GO , the only place I want to go now is bed because I am just distraught at another defeat by a penalty shootout, another day for Analysis but the frustration of another opportunity lost is the main emotion I feel tonight , I know what’s coming the main criticism will be at management, and maybe that’s right , but the player’s decision making on the field is the thing that stands out for me , the amount of squandered goal opportunities, the wrong pass at crucial times , poor intelligence it’s been a theme all through the league and now in Croke park . That’s it over and out for another year , thanks to everyone players, management and supporters, what’s happens next who knows , I’m off for a double vodka ….

They missed loads of point chances but always felt we were a slippy pass away from a goal or 2 on a couple of occasions.

I honestly feel like if we took the time in possession that Monaghan did, we would have easily won. We rushed forward so many times.

I am so gutted. Is that 3 shootout losses in 2 years? Such fine margins are determining McGeeney's assessment. I get it but it could all be so different, and we all wish it was.

Didn't deserve to win the game today. Just not good enough all over the park.

There were at least two penalties that an out and out Goalkeeper would have saved but that's the risk/reward of having an outfielder in nets. There were a few hairy moments out the field with Ethan today too which we got away with.

Too many players coasted along today, happy to have a touch here and there but not contributing a whole pile to the overall play.

Mohan gave McKay a bit of a run around in the full back line at times but the real damage came from their half back and half forward lines. C O'Neill was loose in possession and turned over a few times, as well as giving away frees, Jarly Óg was non existent for large parts, Soupy was loose and Duffy worked hard at times but didn't contribute a whole pile.

Murnin was well sussed by their defence, Rian was quiet and Turbitt the same when he came in.

All these things add up and ultimately it was a culmination of those issues. That, coupled with a bench of McManus, Hughes and Shane Carey made a big difference. Lads coming to the end with a lot of knowhow and experience in the tank.

Where do we go from here? Hard to know. I think we might have a few retirements. I hope not. I'm gutted.

I'll rewatch when I'm home if I get the stomach for it.
Summed it pretty well Seamy
Blame the ref and the split decisions at the end all we want but…
We were poor….
Coupled with dire tactics against a dire team

3 in 12 months and 1 week
And that’s not counting a McKenna cup game
