I honestly can't see us beating either Galway or Tyrone if we play this negative style football that we can't get away from.
Would argue that in Championship to date we have posted big enough scores whilst largely remaining defensively solid.

Are we good enough to beat both Tyrone and Galway. Yes of course we are. Are we going to go out and beat them off the park by double digits. Probably not.

But there is very little between us and both Tyrone and Galway. As usual it will come down to the fine margins and hopefully we can come out on the right side.

Galway are a narrow 2nd for the most negative team in the competition after Derry, and you have to set up in a similar manner to counter it. If you do that, don’t give Walsh too many free kicks and don’t cough up possession easily, you have a real chance against them. I don’t think their attack has been playing well at all, despite the talent they have.

The Tyrone game will be hugely important for both teams, Armagh haven’t really came out on top in a similar situation in recent memory and Tyrone will be staring down the barrel of 3 defeats in a row so will come out with serious intensity. They won’t roll over like they did last year in the Athletic Grounds. Galway showed that Tyrone can really struggle against a solid defensive structure, so we should take the same approach in Omagh and stop them getting any sort of momentum. This Armagh team haven’t shown any ability to manage a game out, and both of these games will be tests of game management more than anything else.

We also have to recognise that we have a weapon that most modern teams don’t. The vast majority of our players have both the technical ability and the stones to kick the ball forward accurately.

We need to impress that upon the game and the opponent’s thinking

Heard that they may move Tyrone game to the Sunday. Anyone want to guess where our 3rd game is played? Portlaoise was mentioned
All the round 2 fixtures are fixed for that weekend. They are not yet specifically Saturday or Sunday.

Rte will want 2 big fixtures for the live tv on Sunday and a few to drive Gaago subscriptions/value on the Saturday. We could fall in either camp.

Dublin will get few tickets for Kildare away and that will drive an audience. Donegal vs Derry and Cork vs Kerry are other options. Hard to know where they will go. But they cynic in me would suggest that every county with a decent following will get a significant Saturday gaago fixture sooner rather than later.

I wonder how many paid for the Fermanagh vs Leitrim game last night

Did i miss something?

I cant rememeber the last time we kicked the ball forward. I do agree we have some very good kickers but for one reason or another they are reluctant to do this.

Had the players looked up last week in extra time cumiskey was standing on his own inside their 21 with lynch on the 50 woth mckeigue cramping in the D.
The commentary did say this but at the game it was clear as day.

lets say we finish 3rd in the group so we'd play Mayo,Roscommon or Monaghan who you would say finish 2nd in their groups
Looks like Kerry now rather than Mayo if we finish third and draw the second team of group 1 away.

Really want to come in the top two in the group. I can't see any reason why we won't.

Kicked the ball forward into O'Neill for his goal against Down. Few kicked forward into Turbitt in the final also, McCabes mark too.

From what I see Armagh kick ball forward more than most teams, in league this year they where more defensive but in championship they where more attacking, I think with derrys defensive system the kick passes where not on that much, I would see Armagh v galway in a neutral ground as 55/45 to Galway and the Tyrone game away would be similar so the 2 games will be close and any result win lose or draw is possible

Anyone know when the dates times for the next round of fixtures are announced?

Its ridiculous that folk can’t plan for this and less than 2 weeks away.

It's simply unbelievable that the gaa.ie website has not put dates and times up but on twitter details are available from a non gaa account

Who is running that sh*t show in croke park as thon yank is probably out of the country?
If this was in any other sporting code we'd be laughing our heads off. In this instance its becoming the norm
