Would say this is is close to the team. As I said before, if fit then probably Ciaron OHanlon and 100% for sure Conor O'Neill start in the hb line. Not Killeavy bias from me, he trusts them.

McGeeney definitely wont start Rowland at 6 cos he is too slow and not physical enough. He is also 31 or 32 and if he was the answer to our problems at number 6 I think we would have found out about it 6 or 7 years ago when we were in division 3, not in Croker trying to mark Ciaran Kilkenny

I dont think he will start ciaran mackin either. firstly because he isn't as good as his brother Conor, who Geezer clearly trusts and secondly becuase he is completely unproven at that level. A decent game against tyrone's B team wasnt enough to change that.

See Turbitt had a great game for queens last night and played the whole match, maybe he will be held back and come on as a sub at some point in the game

I feel like morgan at 6 could be a solution for us he played his best football in a while for cross at 6 this year and I feel he is most suited to mark o callaghan on saturday with his pace and physicality being key for us. our forward depth is brilliant to have turbitt, jemar and murnin on the bench shows our strength in depth and I feel the wide open spaces of croker will suit murnin and turbo against a tiring defence. It is time this squad placed a marker down no better chance to do it on saturday with the country watching. come on armagh

Not sure if forker has pace to mark a player as rapid and explosive as kilkenny I feel he would be more suited to pick someone up inside maybe rock, conor o neill done well on meyler in omagh I felt. my preferance would be for him mackin or mc cabe to pick up kilkenny and leave aidan protecting the goals

I can't see the 3 in bold starting. It will be very interesting to see the team selection.

(Off thread):
Looking ahead to Ballybofey and the championship we know that we have forwards to punish any team. But the match ups at the back that day are obviously key.

I can see Jarly Og starting at 7 & Conor O'Neill at 5. I'm honestly not sure of who will play at 6. James Morgan and Aidan Forker have to start. Mackin, McKay and McCabe filling the other back positions. Kennedy in my opinion is a big miss this year.

If all fit I reckon we have only 9 certain starters come Donegal:

Hughes
Morgan
Forker
C. O'Neill
J Óg Burns
O. O'Neill
A. Nugent
R. O'Neill
R. Grugan

After that I'd pick from:
Connaire Mackin
A. McKay
G. McCabe
C. O'Hanlon
N. Grimley (A probable)
R. McQuillan
C. Turbitt
J. Duffy
A. Murnin (If fit)

I honestly think a few big names will see the bench when all are fit - Soupy, Jemar & Paddy Burns.

That still leaves Crealey, Rowland, T.K, McCambridge, Ciaran Mackin, Shields. On paper we have strength in depth.

Donegal have quality up top. Murphy, McBrearty (Morgan will probably pick him up - but Morgan looked every bit a 6 in the county final), Brennan, Langan, Thompson - they have serious talent up top but so do we.

We might learn a lot from Saturday and we undoubtedly will a lot more throughout the league. But what a place to start. Under the lights at Croke Park.

Morgan and Oisin obvious misses but we have nothing to lose.

Hi is ciaran mackin the red haired fella who done midfield against monaghan? I wouldn't be too confident in conaire but i liked the e brother

Yes thats him he was brilliant against monaghan but perhaps starting against dublin is throwing him into the deep end. morgan at 6 is the way to go he was brilliant there, is he injured currently?

I think something like this will start on Saturday night. And i think over the course of the year that Hall will miss out in the forwards. A few players still lookinh fitness in the backline and that is where we will see most change moving forward.

O o Neill an obvious starter when fit so one of the Mackins will likely lose a place. Conor O Neill could replace burns in the full back line as well. Theres an argument to be made that J Og could be moved to 6 as he is young enough to learn to play that position. Personally I think morgan is too rash in the tackle to start. An able body to come off the bench if cover needed, but i dont think he is a started to be honest.

Otherwise, I wouldn't be surprised to see Morgan in place of either Burns or Rowland.
