If there is a team that is close to championship level it's Mayo. By the sounds of it we lost the game. If silly decisions keep happening on the side line then it has to be fixed just like goal kicks over next 2 weeks

For a team whose forwards are supposedly the strength, 1-7 and 1-10 are two very poor returns. Are we no longer playing to our strengths ?

You could argue we can't play tour strengths because we haven't got the players to defend which is why we play with so many behind the ball

Very annoying to be 3 points upon the last 5 minutes and lose by 2 . I thought Armagh were in control until the last few minutes . We got turned over at least 6 times in the last 6 plays . Game management on the field really bad again , we can’t seem to win these tight games .

11 scores today isn't great, but remember this is winter football.

The 8 Division One sides averaged just over 13 scores this weekend. Last weekend it was just over 10. If we'd tacked on an extra point or two each weekend then everything would be rosy. We're not far away.

Over halfway through this league season and we've been consistently competitive with the best in the country. This is territory we haven't explored for 15 years. Let's not lose perspective of that.

Mayo are a top side. To run them so close is no bad performance. It is impossible to get the jist of the game from the radio. I would like to hear more from supporters who were there before making a judgement.

That was a fairly understrength Mayo team and we should have won, being 3 points up near the end. So we could/should have won. Similarly we could have beaten Monaghan even though we did not deserve to win that one. Very easily, we could have had 8 points by now.
5 points might already be enough to keep us up, but need to beat Kildare to be sure.

Playing in gale force winds, wet conditions and heavy pitches might have something to do with it.

Two wins against the last 2 AI champions, still isn’t enough for some people.

Mistakes will be made. We just hope we learn from them and improve. Give the lads a break.

Make no mistake, we are in a relegation battle.
That seems premature. We're still third, with a decent +ve score difference.

The next game week is crucial. Even a point against Kildare will probably be enough for safety.

Dublin would then need three big wins to usurp us, which just won't happen - they're gone. And it would take a very particular set of results in the games involving Kildare, Monaghan, Tyrone and ourselves for each of them to exceed both our 6 points and healthy score difference.

Yes, but until we secure that point somewhere we are in a relegation battle. Kildare will be a massive test - they are in peak condition at present - don't take that result for granted.

We should have our sights set on Kildare just like at the start. Everything else has been a bonus for us so far in terms of expectations.

Hopefully Dublin come back to life because if they get a sniff of survival life could get very difficult for Mongahan and Tyrone.

Even If things do not go our way against Kildare it is likely that Kerry and Donegal would have bagged enough points by then to play experimental teams. If we can beat experimental teams then we shouldn't be in D1

Mulling over today's game here in Kells with a cup of tea en route home.

The tagline of the forum is 'Armagh to the Core.' The core is rotting with the attitude of some 'supporters' here, so quick to jump down players and managements throats when not three weeks ago rooms were being booked in The Citywest.

Look, we could have won, we should have won and we didn't win.

We were beaten by the All Ireland Finalists of last year and only have ourselves to blame for not picking up at least a point. And points on the table are the ultimate barometer of course but it's far from the doom and gloom some here are suggesting.

Our change in tactic from going long with kickouts to short was detrimental in conceding turnovers, which ultimately cost us. But with that being said we now know Ethan Rafferty does provide an outlet for long kickouts and that's an added tool in the arsenal. So long as he sticks to that script though, with a few of the later short kickouts leading to turnovers and scores. Perhaps the loss of Crealey was a factor in this.

Defence was largely solid and has went from being our problem area to one we're comfortable with. Looks like McKay and Forker picked up knocks so hopefully they're not serious. The two week break will suit everyone.

Forward unit struggled to put scores on the board and we were guilty of a few poor decisions when taking shots on. Soupy not just firing on all cylinders.

Rian a bit quieter as well and a late free missed ultimately the difference in getting a point with Mayo going up and kicking another score to put them two up.

Kildare in two weeks is huge obviously but was always going to be and whilst we backed ourselves to perform this year, nobody foresaw the first two games going so well for us. So the goalposts haven't changed.

Hard to keep people happy but I'm not heading home today thinking we're in disarray. Pissed off at dropping two points of course but still confident enough we've plenty more to show.

Up the Orchard!
