Calm down kids. The last Kerry free was for a very obvious square ball.

The only issue I’d have with the ref so far is that he’s too quick to award marks. For me, a player has to actually land with the ball secured in his hands before he can really be considered to have caught the it.

We look a bit leggy at times. Maybe a bit of heavy training has begun, or maybe Kerry are just making us look like that.
He blow the whistle before it went to the Armagh player

The intensity wasn't there from either team for the entirety of that game. It had the feel of an exhibition match and that was evident in the way both teams played. Kerry can still play when in cruise control and had a few questionable frees given to them. We were missing for large parts of that game and other than for a mistake we could have perhaps got a draw.

Although it was not a great game to watch in the first half, we got to have a dance with the best in the country at the moment without having to shine and in my opinion we looked good in the second half.

Really entertaining game, didn’t want it to end. Shame not to get anything from it, but happy enough to see us compete well. We were the better team in that second half, and if a few break had went our way we would have got over the line. This is our level now, we belong with the Kerrys and Mayos and Dublins.

The goal was the difference in the end and I’m sure it will be the focus of much attention this week. Rafferty was badly caught out, and it has to raise questions about his actual keeping credentials. Will be interesting to see if it tests McGeeney’s faith in the experiment.

That said, plenty of our much vaunted outfield players missed relatively easy chances in that second half when the game was in the melting point. O’Neill, Campbell, Grimley, Duffy and others were guilty of weak wides. So room for improvement everywhere.

Next weekend will be nothing more than shadow boxing, so today was probably our last real showing before the championship. From what I’ve seen over the last 6 games I reckon we have more reason for confidence than at any other point in the last 15 years.

I definitely wasn't laughing anyway
I still do not know what to think.

I did a double take in my thought process and said to myself "Did Rafferty just turn his back to one of the best forwards in Ireland?" Rafferty did challenge a high ball and ran through the Kerry player - something I don't think Hughes would have done.

I am not growing in confidence with Rafferty coming up the field. He puts me on edge but at the same time I wouldn't have a clue who to stick in goals against Donegal.

He's not an experienced Goalkeeper and he made it easy for him to score . Although Clifford was in acres and probably would have scored against anyone in that situation . Most of the kickouts today were straight down the middle of the pitch , Kerry even when they were down 14 men got their kick outs away easier although we did pressure their kick outs later in the match .

I know his instinct would be to track back especially being a midfielder but I still do not feel this justifies it. I think our defence were a bit slack today which could be due to training. We put in an ok performance and still kept up with Kerry - I am not happy but not having a go at the players or management. The only fear I have is how the big teams are able to limit the influence of our forwards. One day we will get a fair crack at a team with a referee that is fair.

We came out of that game without any injuries (I hope) and now we will not feature in the league final it is time to mix things up a bit with Donegal. Let's not give them an idea of what they will be up against in a few weeks.

Donegal win today then they confirm their place in D1 and could themselves still get to the D1 final. They would need to make up a 14+ score difference though.

Kildare are 3rd from bottom head to head with Donegal & Tyrone
Won't go to a H2H when three teams are on the same points. It will go to points difference.

We have a bigger question - Do we help relegate Tyrone or play for a league final?

If we help Tyrone we could condemn Donegal. I don't want to play a relegated Donegal in the first game of Ulster. If Tyrone are relegated it could galvanise the team for Ulster likewise for Monaghan.
