Armagh v Cavan - Ulster Semi-final and Replay

Did I read correctly... someone in here complaining about burns performance on Sunday past? Then a few posts later posting a team with joe McElroy playing full back... and promoting playing a man who as far as I remember has never played for armagh to date... in an ulster semi final replay? There I was thinking burns got the knock to the head.

1. I stated Burns touched the ball once from the 42nd minute until the final whistle on the 74th minute.

2. If McKay isn't fit I think it is possible McElroy will be named in the FB line but as I've already stated I think Hughes will be the one to pick up McVeety. Neither may happen but possible.

3. I mentioned Conor O'Neill is a natural 6 and said "but has no championship experience." He obviously won't play I was addressing the issue that we don't have a natural 6.

4. In a later post I said just that. Indeed I said 3,6 & 11 aren't jerseys nailed down. This is the case especially if McKay is missing along with Donaghy.

5. In the same post I named 9 places I think we will have men starting. I left 6 positions out. FB and CHB being two of them.

Boys. That Hoganstand article is from Monday, using quotes supplied by McCorry immediately after the game on Sunday. All he says is that they'll have a look at the video during the week and decide what to do.

I'd imagine they've had a look at that video by now, and, with no further mentions of an appeal, I think we can all surmise what they've decided.

They did appeal it an lost tried to appeal the technicality of holding up a yellow instead of red lol bit embarrassing

Brendan Donaghy unsurpsingly loses appeal and will miss the Cavan game - unless Armagh take it to the next stage.

Is Paddy Burns back in action? Have seen some unbelievable performances from him. Very like Morgan in terms of tackling but doesn't give away frees like Morgan. Think he injured himself in the down game so maybe too soon to see him back.

Does anyone think there is merit in playing Vernon or McKay in midfield to mark McKernan and move Grimley forward if Burns fit. Grimley spend last week trying to mark rather than play himself.

Going on the league is it not likely that McCabe will replace Donaghy in sweeper role.

I like that thinking. We wasted Grimley on trying to mark McKiernan. Surely we have someone to mark McKiernan and let Grimley play. Grimley is one of our best players IMO. Inspite of giving the marking task last week he excelled as the game went on and contributing to attack.
