Ulster Club betting

Slaughtneil 11/8
Scotstown 5/1
Kilcar 11/2
Harps 7/1
Cavan Gaels 15/2
Omagh 9/1
Lamh Dearg 22/1
Derrygonnelly 33/1

Cant see individual betting for next weekend but presumably Harps will be bookies favourites going by this. Some firms have Harps at 5/1 for Ulster. Harps price is so skinny because of the lopsided nature of the draw.

Harps 1/2 with Boyle sports (2/1 Derrygonnelly) draw 15/2
Harps 3/10 with Paddypower (11/4 Derrygonnelly) draw 10/1.

As a gambling man don't see the value in Armagh Harps tbh.

I see experience as being a big factor in the Ulster Club Championship and they have a lot more than we do in recent times. The fact they gave Slaughtniel such a good run for their money last year, together with the greater familiarity of Brewster Park, suggests to me that Derrygonnelly should be favourites.

An admirable attempt at passing on the favourites mantle sir, almost of BCB-esque proportions ;)
Sincerely though, best wishes for the quarter final, hope the journey continues.

Any1 fill me in on the sendings off. Bad discipline record of late from Harps. Considering there fans outcry over Cullyhanna

Nethetheless congrats on a memorable year for the Drumbreda men

Harps weren’t at races in first half, we gifted them 2 goals in 1st 10 mins, goalkeepers mistake for 2nd absolutely killed us, we never managed to close the deficit. Very poor game, Derrygonnelly tried to slow the game at every opportunity in 2nd half, some of it farcical. 4 sent off for what I don’t know as it wasn’t a dirty game. No8 in the middle was very good, Charlie was our best performer, unfortunately too many others had an off night in bad conditions. Good luck to derrygonnelly in the next round. Referee was woeful

Armagh Harps players will wake up today with a lot of regrets. We have a few genuine gripes, particularly the penalty which was clearly outside the box, the ref was poor for both both sides and he spent most of the evening trying to even up on poor decisions. We hit the post with the goal gaping at the beginning of the second half and that miss was crucial. I can recall us catching balls at least twice in around the house when palming to the net was the better option. Derrygonnelly did enough to be fair, they always seemed to be able to nick scores amid our incessant 2nd half pressure, their ulster experience was clear to see.

Charlie & Mini were best for me, Ulty always looked a threat too.

We'll be better for the experience if & when we get back, we have a lot of young lads and their inexperience was evident last night. The Armagh championship will be savage next year tho. I'm expecting a big year from the Cullies.

Would agree with a lot of what Benny has said. One of those nights where everything that could go wrong did go wrong. Benny was close to me in the stand, and as he said, the penalty that the ref gave was for a foul that was about a yard outside the box. However the lads momentum as he went down made him slide about five yards into the area. We then gave away a second goal from a terrible defensive error to be 2-1 to 0-0 behind. I was reminded of the Armagh match in Ballybofey, way back in 1999, and my hope was that there was still plenty of time to pull it back. However unlike Ballybofey, conditions in Enniskillen were terrible - very heavy and greasy pitch, with incessant heavy drizzle sweeping across the pitch. It made for a war of attrition and in such circumstances a seven point lead is huge.

We rallied in the third quarter and spurned a couple of great chances for goals. Derrygonnelly were able to break up the pitch and notch a point here and there to maintain the gap.

I'd have to say that Derrygonnelly were a distinctly average side, but were not undeserving of their win, which probably gives an indication of our performance. I felt that the difference between a team winning their first County Championship in 26 years, and one which had been targetting this very match all year (on the basis of dominance in their home Championship) was very evident. As Benny says, a lot of regrets for our fellas, as there was an opprtunity there to progress.

Still, I'd have settled for where we are at the start of the year. I'd like to thank the players and management for their commitment and efforts to our Club and close by wishing Karol Loughran a speedy recovery from a very serious arm injury.

Was the Irish News Armagh club allstars announced yet?

I noticed a few other counties announced. Didn't see Armagh yet. Just wondered if maybe I'd missed them.
