Let's focus on beating Antrim 1st lads. New venue and God knows what pitch be like........

Was down at the airport this morning picking up so went a little early to have a quick look around at Glenavy (well mainly to see where it is). It's not difficult to find. What I will say is get there early and maybe park close to the main airport to Moira/M1 road and walk to the ground - maybe 5 - 10 minutes or 2 minutes in the car. I'm imagining it'll be a nightmare to get away from after the game if there's any decent numbers turn up at all. It comes up on your left along the Main Moira road and it's called Furze Road I think it was. It's quite narrow. Just follow that road and it's right at the very end straight in front of you. I turned left thinking the entrance was down there, but that's a school so back up again. Turn right and go down about 150 metres and then left at the chapel and then it's maybe 50 metres. The car park is quite small and as I say likely to be a nightmare to get out of. There are a couple of small fields each side which if it was dryish might work as car parks but there was no-one around to ask anything.

It's not a bad ground and the field itself seems to be reasonably good. There's a concrete standing area all around (again I think because I didn't get out of the car) and a bit of a bank on one side.

Addendum:
Just had a quick look on Google Maps and instead of trying to turn back or park away from the ground if you have someone not fit enough to walk too far, actually the road alongside the chapel and ground, if you were to follow it to the main crossroad and turn left, it would take you to Lower Ballinderry and you could go left there and back onto the main Airport road turning right taking you back to Moira which might be handier for those heading back to mid or south Armagh. North Armagh traffic (although most might know this anyway) could carry on straight at Lower Ballinderry and in to Aghalee and Aghagallon back to Lurgan past the old St. Michael's school.

Fair play Calm 1. Extremely helpful.

Their pitch is brilliant. Best pitch in Antrim arguably. It's a strange decision for Antrim to take the game away Corrigan Park, because that's one horrible, intimidating little ground, where they've barely lost over the last couple of years.

Any word on what length of time Ethan Rafferty will be out?

Maybe they want to spread games around the county. Armagh could do that a bit more.

I mean, when are the Grange going to get a McKenna Cup game? Would you agree @ragingbull ?

Disappointing to hear that Ciaran o'hanlon will not be involved again this year.

Does anyone know why not?

I’m a club member down in Glenavy for about 10 years now. The pitch is at Chapel Hill, not far off main Airport/ Moira Road as the lads said in earlier posts. The Chapel Hill carpark at the pitch and St. Clare’s Hall carpark next to it have been set aside for teams, officials and people with disabilities. On Scroggy Road, Ballymacrickett PS (top side of the ground) offers plenty of parking with direct access to the pitch. On Furze Road, Little Crickett Nursery will also provide parking although smaller than the school and is stones throw to the ground. For those who park on the roadside we are going to operate a one way system so best to park your car facing away from the ground to ease congestion after the game. So please leave sufficient time to be pitch side for 1.30pm throw in and there will be club stewards on the roads and in car parks around for guidance. Easiest way to get to the pitch is via the main Airport/ Moira Road. Hopefully see good crowd of you on Sunday and good Armagh performance ........... PS don’t be shy and buy plenty lotto tickets to help our training pitch works Thank
