Where is this in the rule book? If mentioned at all there has to be intent. Not simply just getting up and drilling the ball at players with their back to them.

I don’t know. I’m not one for reading the GAA Rule book in bed or anything.

But lots of players do it (not the reading in bed thing), and lots of referees do move the ball up.

I am not denying they do it, I have also seen it over the years but why do refs reward it when it clearly isn't an infraction unless its deliberately preventing a quick free (which the ref must consent to) The player that has committed the foul must be allowed the opportunity to get out of the way in a reasonable time frame.

You would think so.

I find it concerning when teams buy into the "we have another gear mode of thinking" 9/10 this fantasy gear never materialises and teams are left wondering what happened. I prefer to see it as not being good enough and under performing. I believe our lads are defenitely under performing at present for reasons I am not too sure. They need a more ruthless Streak against lesser opposition like Clonmore. I have played on and witnessed better B teams than Clonmore (and I don't mean that disrespectfully but it is what it is) . Our lads can improve for sure but it will require a big effort. What more motivation would you need than the other teams. Keady and St Paul's/Tullysaran. No world betters there. Our lads must realise that they also fall into the category though and this is their current level. All of the other teams will fight to the death and we must be ready for this. Keady will absolutely be a tough nut to crack. We have the players there to beat them, of that I have no doubt. Can we raise our performance? Of that I am not so sure but I will be very happy for them to prove me wrong.

Really fancy Keady to give clans a good game though all the same. Clans clearly had another level to go to yesterday but felt they switched off at times.
Just think clans operating at a higher level will give them the edge. Not to say Keady don’t have it in them to cause an upset. Likewise St. Paul’s with Tullysaran who are flying, form book is out the window in this championship

Fancy St Paul's, that was a tough one for them yesterday Cruppen have improved just lacked a bit of experience.
St Paul's are a hard team to beat when Murnin is in form

Tullysarran looked good against a spineless sarsfields team today, but I doubt the character or that tullysarran team. That number 12 Daly more interested in starting rows than playing any football
