Great workrate. Great heart. Some great skill on show. But without brains you'll get no where. Too many stupid mistakes tonight. A huge opportunity missed. Such a shame.

The decision not to take a short kick at the end was a poor decision Mayo are no great shakes disappointing end to the year

Excellent effort from the lads.
Brendan Donaghy was immense, hes going to be hard replaced when he finally retires.
Jemar Hall was excellent, the amount of effort he got through was immense.
Jamie showed his class 2nd half.

Rian is still developing, he had a poor 2nd but we have a gem there.
I dont want to slag any of our players off but we need to find a goalkeeping solution. Our current keeper isnt a good shot stopper, has no presence and costs scores every game with his kicking. We arent even in a position to name a sub keeper to compete.

Frustration with management for some of our tactics. I dont know why we allow the short kickout especially against a team missing 4 midfielders.
Paddy mckeever telling niall to go back was wrong. Rian or niall off the ground was the right way to go.

We gave it a good rattle, couple of big goal chances missed good have been different.

One thing I have realised about this team is that the lack of experience we have really shows through. This might come to a shock to all of you but management can't do anything to fix that.

Disappointed to lose to mayo is a position we wouldn't have envisaged in April lads. Huge huge progress made and I think we have the makings of a serious team in the next 3 years
Just to temper that optimism, our best forward (Clarke) and our best defender (Donaghy) will both be north of 30 by the next championship season. In three years time, it's unlikely that either will still be playing in orange.

The youth of this team is greatly exaggerated. While the likes of Burns and O'Neill have been star additions, and will surely improve further, we have to be alive to the fact that we also have a lot of men well into the second half of their careers. Is it realistic to expect these men to improve, or to even maintain their current standards? I don't believe it is.

What we really need, what every coming team needs, is a couple of lads at the level of Burns and O'Neill coming through every year lifting the overall standard. Finding these lads, if they exist, will be the real challenge for the management over the next twelve months.

@Uptheorchard

You're a Muppet. Put the pint down. You haven't a clue what you're talking about. Maybe talk to one of the 33 lads on the panel before you form your opinion on the manager.

Easy to be a keboard warrior and saviour of Armagh football from the sanctity of your mobile phone.

Too raw to comment on the game now but want to throw my 2 cents in when the dust has settled.

The future is bright that's all I know.

Congrats to Geezer 70 grand in the bank!! He’s a happy man tonight anyway!!
Let's call this for what it is. That's a disgraceful post from a so called Armagh supporter.
Congratulations Armagh on a brilliant performance, just fell short. I have counted about 5 what ifs so far. So take a bow Armagh. 2nd half Clarke, Soup outstanding. Regroup and look forward to next year with confidence. Heads should be held high tonight.

Unbelievable we don’t have one option on the bench to change this game and Ross McQuillan sitting at home!! Geezer shud resign tonight! Players are there for us to really compete!! If you won’t pick your best players don’t think ur guna beat the best!! Good effort but Mckay atrocious! Missed too many good chances! Blaine Hughes pathetic! Mayo were there for the taking!! So so frustrating!!
Get out

The game was there for the taking. Poor call by mgt at the end , top tier teams will have a plan for such an event ! Win or Learn.

That's a hard loss to take. Mayo were there for the taking, were missing so many key players, but key moments went against us, stupid decisions were made and we paid the price. That's the difference between playing at the top level. Mayo were making poor decisions and coughed up possession but we didn't convert nearly enough of it. I thought James Morgan was massively missed today in defence as was Murnin in attack. The way we ended was exceptional, but it makes the stupid frees and bad choices we made even more frustrating. We have the makings of a very good side and some players have really enhanced their reputations. Some more options on the panel need to be found. Young players who didn't get much game time, but are talented need to stick at it. It's a real shame that the season has finished, as it's a long time before we are back out again. But there has been progress made, but some serious work needs done on our decision making, game management and tackling.

good game. Well done Mayo. Really hope they make it to the super 8s and beyond. We can talk about the ref, and I agree he gave some soft frees to mayo, but it wasn’t him that tripped McLoughlin up off the ball taking a very hard to score free to a very hard to miss free. That out two in it and was ultimately the winning of the game for mayo.
We have undoubtedly improved this year but we need a keeper and a full back. Dunno what Grimley was at at the end. Really think we left that one behind, unlike Roscommon last year, and it’ll be a while getting over it

Full Back that's harsh don't think anyone can blame McKay for tonight's lost don't think he had a bad game
