Mayo v Armagh

Oisin is fit. Lad has been rearing to go. And had we won last night not only do I think he would walk but I think his father might have pulled him and Rian. Rightfully so. He's a class act. Watching Charlie Vernon coming on while he sits on a bench. It's ludicrous. I honestly want McGeeney to go. Jason Duffy, Jarly Og Burns, Oisin O'Neill, Ross McQuillan and Rian O'Neill all need to be starting.

I'm terribly sorry if that doesn't sit well with the people on here who want the Vernons, Donaghys and Grugans to start.

The best 15 in the county includes youth. Without those five we aren't playing our best 15.

The amount of people on here who have questioned the possibility of Ross or Oisin starting clearly don't watch them play. Are they in our best 15? To suggest not is both insulting and laughable.

We need a goalkeeper badly.

2. J. Morgan
3. P. Burns
4. P Hughes
5. R. McQuillan
6. C.O'Neill
7. J. Duffy
8. J Og Burns
9. O. O'Neill
10. A. Nugent
11...
12. J. Hall
13. S. Campbell
14. R. O'Neill
15. J. Clarke

I would love to see that HB line within the next two years.

1 and 11 are issues. Either O'Neill could do 11 and McQuillan can do midfield. Massive options available.

No donaghy, no forker?? Think everyone saw against Cavan how vital donaghy is to our defense, and forker one of our most consistent performers and one of the best markers on the team, to leave them out is rediculous. I agree with oisin at 11 as you can't drop grimley or jarly as both have been brilliant this year, not quite sure why he's not playing but our forward line has been brilliant this year so cant really have a go at geezer for that anyway. Also you do not speak for the O'Neil's so dont be putting words in their mouth saying there going to pull out of the squad. In regards to mcquillian, have saw him quite a few times and if he keeps his head down he will hopefully be a future star but the lads only 20 everyone harping on about him not getting on is doing the lad no favours. How can he possibly live up to that expectation, if he gets on next year and has poor games he'll be slated and that's not fair on the lad so just give it a break

Still have to get the balance of new with experienced. Too many young people on the team could be more disruptive than beneficial. The lads that are in the early 20s are going to have enough game time in the future.

Mcquillan was with the u20s this year. Case closed. Quit yapping and guldering on about it, it's beyond irritating now.

O O'Neill has been injured all year and played 2/3 club games. Definitely not championship fit.

The midfield and forward line haven't been the problem this year at all, posting massive scores regularly so why the constant harping on about players who aren't playing when the unit is performing brilliantly. Aligned to the fact that none of you actually have a clue what is going on in the camp, just want to do a bit of geezer bashing (and if you read my posts I haven't been a massive fan in the past).

Our issue is the goalkeeper and we're a couple of top tier defenders short at the moment, rectify that and we're in business.

Finally a year to say, "Jesus, that team reminds me of the emergence in '98, we're on to something" and all some people want to do is cry about 2 players, unproven at county level, not playing. 1 is in the u20 squad and 1 has been injured all year!! Christ the night!

Geezer on the BBC radio interview named McQuillan (and others, including Turbett) as among the exciting prospects that Armagh had coming along. My feeling is that it was the one game ban imposed from the Tyrone match last year that possibly placed a technical restriction on McQuillan's availability for the Championship/Qualifier games-as in meaning he was not able to partake in any of those games until ban (at U20) had passed. Might be wrong as I don't honestly understand the full details of the rules, given that Ross did play in league games during 2018 (against Offaly if I remember) and still took part in the U20 campaign later that year in addition to the most recent McKenna cup campaign. Next year will be time enough for him to work on his place on the squad if he is not off to AFL, and if that indeed is the case, the best of luck to the lad. There are quite a few lads coming along and squad wise, we are in a good place.
We are not far off being a very, very good team, and there are echoes of 98 there alright, but on the other hand it also feels like 2014 when we ended an enterprising campaign with a one point defeat to Donegal on the QFs. I really hope this time we can build on this. I am immensely proud of the lads for the effort they put in and pride in the jersey shown-there is real belief there, but in the end the things that beat us have a familiarity to them-lack of discipline at critical points of the game and erratic decision making. McGeeney is an excellent motivator and overseer of a players individual development-helping with their self belief and get the best from themselves-but game time tactics and decision making are not as convincing. If Kieran is to stay on, it will be interesting to see how he chooses to freshen up the backroom and support.

How many times do we have to point out to clowns like this that Ross McQuillian is an u20 and he is not permitted to play senior until the u20s are out. What part of that do you not understand you absolute pillock.
Wrong he is permitted
